Would you like to see more non-gun fight abilities?

Gun fight is the heart of a FPS. I am therefore not suggesting to change it in anyway. In fact, I would like to see more gun types - the more imaginative the better. That means more variety of gun fight. Or perhaps add more layers of upgrades to each guns. But all that deserve a seperate topic. I however would be interested to see more non-traditional gun fight abilities, such as more melee skills, grenades switching and different supers. With the exception of Shoulder Charge Striker, we have only one melee skill. How about having some sort of melee combos? So instead of the current one-animation-punch-punch-punch (or stab-stab-stab), a successful melee hit will turn into a chain combos with bonus for successive hits (similar to for example some chain-skills in Guild Wars 2). At the moment, melee-ing some tough targets is tantamount to suicide. But what if in a melee combo chain that with every successful hit will increase armour or recovery or agility or damage or attack speed or some other perks? Or perhaps a melee special weapon (instead of comsuming ammos, it uses energy charges). How about being about to switch grenade type on the go instead of going back to the skill tree every time? Of course there has to be some cooldown period. But I guess it will be give rise to some interesting tactical choice. In some ways, super skills definite the subclasses. But sometime, after fully super charged, a super skill is left idle. Some would say it servers as a tactical decision as to when to use it, for instance, saving a FoH to pop the WoD bubble. But what if we add another layer of tactical decision regarding the use of supers? Say for example, when a super skill is fully charged, a player can choose to keep it as it is and wait for the opportune moment to use it, or upgrade it to a super 2 skill. Of course, the said super 2 skill has to be charged too. So basically you charge your basic super skill first, then if so choose to upgrade to super 2 skill, charge the super 2 skill next. So the choice is whether to use the standard super skill now or wait longer for an upgraded super later. I think adding more non-traditional gun fight abilities to the game will add some diversity to a FPS game, which in turn gives players more freedom to find a way best fit their playstyle. What do you think?
