top scout rifles and recommendations.
As a scout rifle devotee I am looking for more to add to my collection. Hers my ranking but like I said I don't have all of them.
1) visions of confluence. No need to elaborate here, well rounded weapon with full auto and solar damage.
2) MIDA multitool: it's very fast. Fast reload, fast ADS, fast rate of fire, faster movement, kills fast. If it wasn't an exotic it would be the top dog. It is the only SR that has 21 mag size standard compared to the usual 16. Combined with fast reload, it makes up for it low impact on the long run.
3) cryptic dragon: the vendor version has great rate of fire, zen moment and explosive rounds. It locks down and destroys clumps of enemies with explosions thanks to stagger.
4) A.1: has the most impact. Most likely everyone's first legendary scout rifle as it is one of the vanguard vendor SR. As such it is often my gold standard for all SRs. It's rate of fire and stability leaves a bit to be desired but for it rewards your aiming with great damage and firefly.
5) Gheleon's Demise: for a small fortune (11,500 glimmer) you get this from the iron banner. It is on this list for having the best range. It's impact is second only to the A.1. It might as well be a sniper rifle for it great impact and range. It is hard to rank this gun as its perks are highly variable. If you can perks that boost stability and reload it could make it better than the other SRs listed.
Any scout rifle that should be here but isn't? I have tried the Calling but dismantled it since the perks sucked and it didn't really outperform the A.1.

1 ReplyTo be honest number 2-5 were hard to rank. All had good points and I liked using all of them. Ares nemesis, crypt dweller and crusade are SRs I haven't tried yet. What makes them stand out?

I'd have gheleons top three, it's a beast for head shots.

The Calling I use was a nightfall gift. It's stability with firefly makes it irreplaceable for me.

1 ReplyUse your marks to get setup for nightfall, 3 elementals of each LMG,Launcher,Fusion,Sniper. I'm just missing solar LMG, the SGA is absolute gash. Picked up the arc zombie apoc from vendor today. Regarding scouts, I think scouts and HCs are the outstanding guns in daily pve and apart from a few, they ALL do a great job! Gheleons is a beast, and I love the almost silent mida tho the exotic issue means I don't use it much in high tier events. VoC brilliant for high tier with the solar n full auto. Whichever way you look at it, WE NEED MORE VAULT SPACE FFS

3 RepliesNice post you made a lot of valid points the mida I agree would be a no because it's exotic the iron banner would be my top only if it has the abilities mine does. It has return to sender explosive rounds and fire fly. Best all around probly the calling future war cult scout rifle

I play pvp and pve mainly with scouts, I have the VOC maxed its a beast in both, mida maxed better in pve but you can deff manage with it in PvP, the IB scout hits extremely hard and is the scout I use in pvp. If you have good aim and good control any scout can do some damage, just some opinions of mine.

Got a couple A.1 from rep packages with some good stats and they are awesome. A.1 , Cryptic are very good SR for how fast you can get them etc.

4 RepliesAnyone know a good mag size for a scout rifle? I got one i really like with firefly and zen moment but it has 14 in a mag. Is that good, or what? Thanks.

With the A1 I would also include that other one sold by the Vanguard and the Aries Nemesis (Crucible). They are all basically the same SR. Perks alone can't be looked at since they change if the weapon is a drop.

As you said. Perks make the scout rifle. All depends on those perks. I don't have a huge inventory of scouts. But I do enjoy the handling of the MIDA Multi-tool

5 RepliesI would rank Gheleon's Demise and A.1 about the same. Gheleon's Demise has a little bit more range and A.1 has a little bit more stability. Both of them can 3 shot someone. I have fitted stock for both of them and it makes a big difference to me. I got my A.1 from RNG and firefly which I like. P.S. Has anyone noticed that Gheleon's Demise and A.1 both say the have 16 bullets in their magazine but end up having 15. Its not a big deal but that extra bullet might mean getting the kill or getting killed.

I've tried a lot of different scouts. My first legendary was Cryptic Dragon. It had return to sender, agility and firefly. At the time that seemed like it was great. The gun is great but not the perks. Gheleon's Demise is my go to now. Rerolled to mulligan (not the best), field Scott or fitted stock, and outlaw. It's the best I could hope for. FYI. Crypt Dweller from dead orbit is almost the MIDA. I'm ranking up in dead orbit to try and get one with great perks.

2 RepliesMy Crypt Dweller has higher stability than the MIDA and the other stats are the exact same. It has a smaller mag, but lightning fast reload with outlaw, which mine has. Another advantage over the MIDA is of course the scope options. My favorite scout rifle and I pretty much have all of them. Still love the MIDA for the movement speed.

I have been using Crusader I (New Monarchy) Has "Luck in the Chamber" random bullet does bonus damage, "Explosive Rounds"and "Send It" crazy range with perk on. All in all a pretty solid gun but now I have VoC so rarely use it on my main.

I have a A.1... That is a lot better than the original. Also the dead orbit scout is really good but the name escapes me at the moment. Edit: it's called the Crypt Dweller. And the Crusader I have from New Monarchy.
