Lettuce see who's smart and who's "smart"
Apparently this is a political thing

I wish it were real, but unfortunately it's not :(

Edited by Cultmeister: 11/30/2014 8:43:54 PMA good idea is a good idea. Whether there's a threat involved or not, reducing carbon emissions and generally making our energy 'cleaner' is a good thing. So all you people claiming it's fake can shut the hell up about it. If it's fake then yay cleaner energy; if it's true, yay cleaner energy and less negative effects. I honestly don't see what the argument is against green energy other than 'hurr durr it's expensive' or 'hurr durr but ai needz mah oil moneyz'. This is potentially the fate of the world here so suck up or let your kids die.

No, but climate change is
-
Your face isn't real.
-
It takes a retard to say global warming or climate change isn't real.
-
-
No, or at least not how they'd like you to believe. The earth naturally goes in and out of cold and hot periods. On a planetary scale, we basically just came out of the ice age so the climate is still shifting. Granted, humans definitely haven't had a positive effect on the environment, but there it is.

It depends on what Global Warming means to you. If Global Warming is a dramatic and very threatening event that, very soon, will [gasp] melt the polar ice caps, then no, science is very clear that this is not true, due to documentation of rising heat over time. If Global Warming is a gradual and slow event that, eventually, in thousands or even millions of years, might melt an icecube a minute faster, then I believe that, indeed, it is true, because scientists have documented a gradual increase of heat over time. Either way, it is irrelevant to the present time. Let our children fix it.

It is a global red herring that lets governments play 'crisis mode' and spend money on pointless things instead of dealing with real issues in our countries.

Instead of asking if global warming is real, you should be asking if humans are having a detrimental impact on the environment. In this case, humans are hurting the environment.
-
No, global warming is a nonsensical farce. Now, Climate Change is real. It has been happening for millions of years.

Edited by PROCK7: 11/29/2014 8:17:08 AMScience uses a system of hypothesis, theory and law. A hypothesis attempts to answer questions by putting forth a plausible explanation that has yet to be rigorously tested. A theory, on the other hand, has already undergone extensive testing by various scientists and is generally accepted as being an accurate explanation of an observation. A "law" is a readily observable fact about something. It is something that is obvious and undeniable. The issue with global warming which is now called climate change is it is a theory at best but is argued as a law. The models have been off and so the advocates are struggling to find any explanation why their theory is still right though it is off. There is too much money and politics involved that skew the logic and objectivity science needs to admit the flaws and be honest. I read articles that the polar ice caps would be melted in 15 years and polar bears would be gone. The oceans would rise by 1 meter. That article was written in 1995. At the time there were many hot summers in the south with many days of 98-101 degree temps with the prediction of 102-105 degrees in Florida by 2010. These things have not happened. In fact it is cooler the past few years (advocates argue that US temps may have dropped but world average is higher.) To say there is climate change is obvious but there is more going on than the advocates want to admit. However the opposition is certain it is man made. I believe the climate will of course change like it has for billions of years. We have gone from molten surface to ice ages to more temperate climates we have now. I am of the belief the sun is a much larger contributor than we understand and far more than CO2. There are researchers and scientists that say the changes in our climate are more accurately linked to the sun and it is now entering a dormant period where the energy output will be lower therefore leading to cooler temperature. However the climate change majority believes man is the main reason for the weather changes via CO2. The theory the climate is changing is right. They are wrong about the direction of that change and the cause. Time will tell and the estimate is that by 2025 we will trouble as the sun will be dormant for so long crops will die. Bottom like: A new hypothesis we should focus on is that The output of energy from the sun is a better predictor for climate change and that output is getting lower and we will have cooler temps.

Edited by Ingy: 11/27/2014 12:06:44 AMHow can gobal warming be real if our eyes aren't real?
-
I think it's funny when people use cold weather as proof that global warming doesn't exist.
-
Global warming only happens in the summer. Right now is global cooling!
-
Well climate is definitely changing...
-
Yes My ice cubes are melting too fast

Edited by Ghost of Reach: 11/28/2014 1:36:16 AMIt can be natural or man made, so yes it is.
We only make a small fraction of it compared to natural sources.
Google, "Chemtrails"

To an extent. I believe it's predominantly a natural thing, with Humans having a small impact on the environment..

No people just want you to buy crap

We pump trillions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere every year. CO2 is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gasses, like a greenhouse, trap heat from the sun. Our ice caps are melting at an accelerated rate as a result. This effects ocean levels and currents. Ocean currents determine geographical climate to a great degree. We can see the evidence right in front of our eyes. There is nothing to believe, just to see.

I'm not sure how I feel about it. One side is sure it's real while the other is sure it's not. Instead of believing what my television tells me I usually try to research these things for myself. A few things I've learned: - Global warming comes off as a politically correct agenda which naturally causes people to question it. It doesn't help that they keep changing it's name to fit said hypothetical agenda. Regardless, we should cut down on pollution either way. -They say warming is caused by carbon dioxide in the atmosphere but there was fifty times as much during the ice age. -We are definitely having an impact on our environment but it may not be anywhere near as significant as they say. -All models and simulations by the scientists who came up with the concept were hugely over exaggerated. Many respectable environmental scientists don't even consider them to be legitimate. -The Earth's average temperature has inceased one degree since 1997. -The Earth's temperature has fluxuated many times in history (, and these fluxuations many times reflect sun spot and solar flare activity. -We don't know everything and shouldn't assume that others do. My conclusion: Still not sure. Need more unbiased information.
