New Heavy Weapon: Flamethrower
Have you guys ever noticed the lack of heavy weapons? It might just be me, but I feel that there should be more than the two types of heavy weapons that are included. It just isn't enough variety. Therefore, I am proposing a flamethrower weapon class. It would add more variety, enhance certain play styles, and overall make the game better. It would be short- to mid-ranged, have a burn effect, and leave a trail of damaging flames that could be used to block off certain entry points. It also could have a smokescreen effect, making it harder for the player to see. If you are in support of this, please vote, like, and comment so Bungie will see this.

2 RepliesI was just drawing some concepts for an exotic flamethrower! I didn't think anyone had thought of it yet. Personally i think that they would make a good weapon class, and would balance out all the weapon classes. I don't really see how rail guns and grenade launchers would work, as rail guns - fusions. grenade launchers are distant cousins of the rocket. flamethrowers have a unique range, shared only with the sword, but very different to the speedy slashing style of the sword. They wouldn't be that op due to their range, and would really only be used to full effect on shielded enemies or majors.

1 ReplyI remember the first time i used a flamethrower in halo. Was being attacked by the flood. Thought it would be a good idea till I had flaming flood running, jumping, and murdering me.

I think grenade launchers would be better; what with it being less OP than a flamethrower with a really limited amount of ammo and whatnot. I do like the idea of a flamethrower though

A third heavy type would be good, but not a flame thrower. I don't think I have ever played a game that includes a flame thrower that actually makes them useful. In most games you have to be so close, and they kill so slowly that you end up with burning guys trying to kill you in close quarters which is NOT ideal. Fun weapons, granted, but never very useful. With that said, they could be useful against groups of Thrall, but not much else. My suggestion would be semi-auto grenade launchers. I think they would be a nice middle ground between machine guns and rocket launchers.
