My opinion: Solo both portals at the same time. Maybe send an extra in for a few seconds to fire off a few rockets then leave if the two soloers aren't 100% competent at soloing. This is easily the quickest most efficient method IMO.
These are the 3 main strategies ive seen used with only mild variations, so if you use a method similar to one of the above vote for that one.
-
1 person solo each. Piss easy
-
2 people in Mars(left) and 1 in venus(right) at the same time. After that run to middle and poof within a min you are done
-
Skilled and coordinated team: both portals same time. Average team from lfg: one at a time.
-
If you have good players, solo both, takes like a minute. If you don't have a good team go one at a time, it still works well
-
Soloing both portals at the same time is by far the quickest and easiest method, IF the people soloing are confident in doing so. All you need is a decent rocket launcher or a full icebreaker clip and the Gatekeepers go down easy. There is hardly any time defending outside and you don't need to worry about the middle. As the OP states, if the soloers are having issues, have one person follow them in and just fire a couple of rockets and immediately run back out before the Gatekepeer goes down. Option 1 = By far the best method. Anyone who says different doesn't know what they are talking about!

I prefer doing both at the same time. But I often find myself being the only one that is capable of doing this. So I end up soling the first portal, come out and cleanse, drop the relic for someone else to pick up(pre-planned) then we both go in next portal
-
I recently joined a new team who always do one at a time. So while 5 of them were pratting around doing mars, i got bored and opened up venus. Took out the gatekeeper with my ice breaker (dont have a gally) and ran out the gate with the relic before the praetorian managed to close the gate. Unfortunately i died to the praetorian since the cleanse doesnt charge fast enough, but i just self-revived. Everyone was like 'right people places now we need to do venus' and im just sat in the middle with the relic and they didnt even realise. Fml.
-
I usually go in alone while everyone else defends the portals. When I come out, I give the relic to someone else and I go for the next one. That makes everything 1000x easier. But that's just me.
-
If you don't vote for option 1 you are doing it wrong.
-
We go one at a time but do it fast enough that we don't need to defend the middle.

If we have 2 or more 30s and no level 28s, we get them both at the same time. Best and easiest is both at the same time but it depends who you are running with.

One guy in each portal simultaneously Each call out low health, then kill their gatekeepers and grab their relics This is better than one at a time because it prevents you and your team for sending someone or a few people to the middle to fight off the never ending spawns of Minotaurs This method is extremely helpful on hard mode

Edited by Gamenjoyer: 11/26/2014 8:48:50 PMAnyone who doesn't have downy's can solo a gatekeeper in 5seconds or less (regardless if they have G-horn) People who voted for option 2 and 3 are scrubs... And the people who vehemently defend option 2 as being the best make me want to take my bedazzled yarmulke off.

Here is the quickest and easiest way to do it on hard. Step one: open the door. (Stand by it) Step two: snipe the gate keeper. Step three: open the left portal. Step four: two people go in with rockets, if done right you will instantly kill the gate keeper. It is best if the person not picking up the relic shoots two or three rockets ASAP and leaves to let the other guy finish it in one or two rockets as he is running for the relic. You only get marked when it is dead. Step five: the second you grab the relic ONE person needs to go to the middle to defend. -the guy in the middle needs to go right to the back BEHIND the Minotaur spawn point. You will not be bothered by anything else. They will spawn slowly with their backs too you. (I use AE to drain the shield, then praetorians foil to finish them. Use your grenades always, and rockets as an 'oh shit') easy. Step five continued: The other five players should now be opening the right (and shooting) as the relic flys over and right in. One guy joins him. Step six: the relic holder shoots his super at the keeper as the other guy uses rockets. Instant death. Relic holder cleanses and clears mobs as other guy grabs the second relic. (Remember to cleanse him again first relic holder) Step seven: all outside, middle stairs is covered still so one relic guy on left one one right, AND one other guy stands behind them with rockets, of course. This leaves the last guy not doing much so it's all good if he is dead, else he can just aid the killing. This method is so quick, so easy, my regular team has it down to perfection. We couldn't run it faster if there were no mobs. Seriously. (4 Ghorn rockets from a 30 equals dead gate keeper, just two each) Hope this was clear and helpful :)

No option for gjallarhorn or gjallarhorn.
-
When dual-soloing do you send 3 left and 3 right? I saw one post say 4 left and 2 right.
-
We solo them on hard mode for clan runs. Maxed Gjallarhorns make clearing easy.

Edited by SilverCyric: 11/26/2014 8:42:39 PMIt's about speed, send in 2-3 on Mars, send out 1-2 before gatekeeper drops, to avoid getting marked. Last guy can run out on his own. We prefer to send two warlocks that can resurrect, just in case something goes wrong, soon as we call coming out, 1 guy sweep forward to defend conflux, as they shield comes out, we shift to Venus, clear Hobs as the gate opens, send in shield and 1 other. Super the Gatekeeper with shield, finish with double rockets. Both run up, first shield guy cleanse both then out, everyone meet in middle, 1 guy can go up and help original conflux defender, but usually it's not necessary if the right person was chosen to begin with, but a little back up never hurts. Both shield guys take a portal, remaining 2 back up shield bearers. It's a smooth and rapid process, get in and get out... Speed is the key Luck mates!!

Yesterday my team did the third poll option. .... it took 15 trys.
-
Send one into left portal Kill it with rockets. Pick up shield ; go open right side. Relic holder and 1 other go in right; kill it with rockets When one sacrifice happens one person goes to middle. Open the door Get on the floor Everyone walk the dinosaur
-
One at a time. More room for error.

Edited by Blocksystem: 11/26/2014 7:28:51 PMMy personal strategy: 1. Everybody, on the count of 3, spam all their snipers into the eye of the first Gatekeeper, and kill him before he teleports, Once he is dead, take out the hobgoblins, and everybody run left side. 2. Send 3 people into the (usually I do left) portal and kill the gatekeeper as fast as possible with snipers and rockets. 2 people provide cover fire for the third person as they grab the relic, cleanse, and run back through the portal. 3. Repeat the same thing with the other portal, send 3 people in to kill the gatekeeper. Person who has the relic from the first portal can simply stay outside and kill Vex spawns, until the second relic is out of the second portal. 4. defend the conflux with the two relics, tadah time to kill atheon
-
I find the method that works best, is that someone (usually me) solos the first one, comes out and drops the relic for someone, then we move over to the second one and same person solos the second one while the relic stays outside to help because i can kill the gatekeeper and get to the relic faster than i go blind. I then wait in there to cleanse myself, then run out, cleanse myself again and everybody gets to conflux.

Look for the keymaster

Easy to solo with weapons of light and an ice breaker.
