Legendary weapon drops becoming materials too frequently
Since ascendant energy & shards were reclassified to purple I have noticed that a good 7/10 times when I do get a legendary engram drop I end up with materials - I appreciate this is all RNG and is there to ensure longevity but it's beginning to reach a point where it's easier to obtain exotics from xur then it is to get a decent purple class hand cannon/sniper.. & grinding pvp matches for crucible points is not really my thing.
Anyone else frustrated with those purple material drops?

2 RepliesFinished the nightfall and got a purple engram for the special slot. Hoping it was ice breaker cause that's one I don't have. Ended up being 2 shards. That's a pretty low reward for a nightfall if u ask me.

I have no problems with grinding. I would have preferred a pyramid upgrade system and a little RNG as opposed to full blow Rolls on my rolls for the roll of my engram. By pyramid I mean, break 2 weapons down to make a green, break 3 green to make a blue. Fuse 4 of the same weapon of blue to make a purple and fuse 5 of the same purple to make an exotic... Stats based purely on how you bothered to upgrade it to give its final dos out put and quite possible have some say in the element you want to make it , like adding lighting rods to the fusion to make

Too true, I don't even need shards anymore (for now) but do need energy, but all I get is shards!

Yep. If it's energy etc make it a specific engram. If it shows weapons or armour that's what I expect
