We've all been labeled as that one guy. Maybe not all of us, but I guarantee a good amount of us have been stereotyped just because we enjoy video games. It's annoying to me because none of it is true. Maybe it is for somebody but it's not true. I've collected some of the most common stereotypes I've run across in my gaming experiences.
1. I have no life
2. I live in my parents basement
3. I have no friends
4. I smell
5. I wear sweaty clothes

36. I dropped out of high school for video games
37. I'm brain dead
38. I'm ugly
To think I'm labeled as these...none of the above stereotypes are true. I think it's time the stereotypes end. I hate being labeled because I like to spend the few hours of my night roaming a virtual word, or slaying some dreadful monsters. Because this is who I am.

A lot of the stereotypes for gamers are very odd
-
Most of these were conceived back when gaming was a cult hobby. It wasn't very widespread, but the people that did do it were really into it, hardly such a thing as a "casual" back then. Games are becoming a much more common interest for everybody because everything in the world is going digital, everyone has a device with the capability to play games in their back pocket. You could argue that mobile isn't a real "gaming" platform but certainly serves as an excellent catalyst for someone's discovery of games as a hobby.
