I feel like the Titans melee is the worst in the game, the perks I can understand it allows it to be tailored to the other perks.
But the actual meele itself is painful. Ive been high-fived in the face by a warlock 10 meters away and my ally meele never even started to initiate shouler charge and my punchy melee did nothing. Titans need either a slightly stronger non-storm fist/barrier meele or a slightly longer reach.

Here is my serious thoughts on how to fix Titan melee without any buffs whatsoever. Change the animation. A warlock/hunter have the same animation for a hit or a miss, Titans successful hit has a straight jab animation, and a miss is a hook. This makes it somewhat impossible to gauge your range and is why you need to kiss opponents on the cheek before you are confident you are close enough to land a hit. If all swings were straight jabs then it would be far easier to get a feel for the range and reduce the amount of times you feel you should have connected but didn't. This way your fist either reaches the enemy or it doesn't. I feel even "you have shoulder charge" responders could agree that would be fair.

Titans melee sucks. Titans suck. I hate my friends for telling me to be a Titan the first time around.
-
I don't think it's too bad... Then again I tend to jump Jab if I'm at distance. I think I started jump jabbing as a "workaround" to dealing with the other classes and their melee's superior range and speed. You can thank The Crucible for that tactic... Adapt or die lol
-
Titan is the best melee around
-
Not to mention Titan mele is the only mele that doesn't lock on I think. Warlock is bad, hunter still locks on but not much as warlock it seems. Titan is just a punch in the air lol.
-
It really does need some tweaking. I hate how people think that just because Titans have Shoulder Charge makes up for it. No it doesn't.

Edited by SnowPh4ntom: 11/26/2014 12:03:33 AMStriker is the melee class that refuses to use melee, it actually prefers a shotgun.

OP: I think Titans melee is too short range and has bad animation. Reply 1: but you have shoulder charge so that makes up for it. OP: But I don't use shoulder charge. Reply 2: Yeah but you can just switch abilities and shoulder charge us so that makes up for it. OP: But I don't want to switch to abilities that don't suit my play style. Reply 3: Yeah, but you have other Titans on your team with shoulder charge so that makes up for it. OP: But I play exclusively with hunters. Reply 4: Yeah, but you know shoulder charge exists right? So that makes up for it. OP: But I've never even seen someone use shoulder charge. Reply 5: Yeah, but you've seen that movie Clash of the Titans, and that's pretty cool so I think that makes up for it. OP: I have never seen that movie. Reply 6: Well... You should watch it then! Problem solved. .....That's seriously how this conversation is going.

It does need a certain entertaining change. Maybe a elbow throw, or a nice eye gouge.
-
Yeah Titan melee sucks. I don't even use it
-
Every caracter has its strength and weaknesses. I got a warlock and a hunter. I don't like the jumping on the hunter, they are weaker too comparing with the warlock. But it's got its strengths, the bladedancer is awesome! Accept the differences and the challenges they bring on.
-
Pr maybe a faster punch bc the hunter can melee so freakin fast
-
Have you seen shoulder charge??
-
Yeah......well you get that overpowered ground stop ability thing that kills you even if your gliding 10ft above in the air. I have to be careful how i approach titans in the crucible, shotgun/high five works most of the time.......if i don't get punched, kicked or shoulder barged in the face that is.
-
Maybe the melee is terrible because you have shoulder charge. You can't have it all man.

Edited by firedragon4: 11/25/2014 6:04:58 PMI must apologize for most of the bad things I have said about titans. Started with warlock then a hunter and my titan is level 25 and the melee sucks. It needs to be adjusted to warlock range. I should also add i'm working striker and haven't started defender yet so maybe it's better range.

Edited by scrylite: 11/25/2014 10:42:24 PMYou guys already have shoulder charge which is one hit kill and requires no cool down or super energy. You guys are well equipped.
-
Shoulder charge is pathetic. It should have a lot longer cool down than it does. That, or it shouldn't exist or be a one hit kill.
-
Edited by WiryFoxMan: 11/25/2014 10:15:43 PMTitan melee is the fastest, when both your enemy's and your melee special is on cooldown and you double melee, you out punch every class. Now add the faster melee perk on helms, you are a punching machine.
-
Putting shoulder charge aside the titan melee sucks. It's really useful with no back up plans + relentless but it still needs a slightly longer reach, you have to hug things ffs.
-
Not the be the guy to bring up a well known fact, but your melee is a one hit kill, so I wouldn't be complaining about it
-
They ninja nerfed it, it takes two maybe three hits after shotgun to face or even after special hulk smash
-
Easy mode to out melee Titan.. You punch Titan first, he punches you first then.. Back up, use Warlock ranged melee Back up throw knife Enjoy Titan dieing as his second fist swing connects with air. Seriously, every Warlock (and SOME Hunters) just back away now and land the ranged melee to win.
-
I do find the range on the Titan melee to be incredibly short with terrible tracking when compared to the others. Can't even melee out of a detainment barrier against Atheon or Templar. I can on my warlock and I'm not high enough level with my hunter to know if they can too.
-
I have it disagree. I play a warlock sunsinger and I foolishly got into a few fistfights with titans during the IB, they routinely were able to hit me twice and dispatch me in the time I hit them once and had to wait for my melee to reset. The speed of their melee can definitely compensate for any shortcomings in damage they may "suffer".

You just need to get better at the game.
