Investing in some security for their systems might have been a good idea.
Sony Corporation has been hacked.
Globally, Sony is offline right now as the Corporation is dealing with this.
With the world moving to more and more digital platforms as the everyday norm, is this even acceptable to let this happen to your systems?
This isn't a DNS like most people claim as "hacking", this time it's the classic, actual hack of their systems. While I do not in any way condone what the hackers are doing, how could one of the world's largest technology firms ever let this happen?

I see you're still a butthurt Xbox fanboy.

Was a hoax

Sony spends in the hundreds of millions in security. In one month alone they reported $170 million in security upgrades. This is the kind of problem that no matter how much you spend can happen. And Sony isn't the only company this has and probably happen again too. There are people out there that have nothing better to do then spend countless hours trying to hack systems. All these companies can hope to do is delay them from getting in. It is a never ending battle. How much have you spent on security for your personal data protection? I would bet you haven't invested 170 million dollars. So they are trying a lot harder then you are.

And that's why I don't have my credit card attached to my Live account. Not to mention the fact that live support won't let you remove it without buying a god damn live card.

WHITE PEOPLE ARE SUPERIOR TO YOU!!! Social Science...

Didn't they say XBL and PSN were hacked like 2 days ago?
-
It was just reported that Xbox and windows live services were hacked as well

No, they beleive that everything is perfect. IMO They needed to just update the PS2. XD

Lol, again?

Wait psn is down... That sucks

Goddamnit this shit pisses me the -blam!- off. Even though I've never owned a sony system, these hackers are hurting Sony's customers a lot as well, and it's unfair to do that to gamers and other folk who just buy their products for fun. And those "big secrets"? I'm sure there are other companies with worse ones. Piss off and go do something useful to them instead.

Their online security isn't great but they just barely switched over to a paid service so it'll probably take time to build it up which is the problem because they don't have time. I remember reading an article about one of the people who work in security and says that it is outdated and needs a major overhaul.

I certainly hope so... it's getting pretty ridiculous.
