A while back, [url=http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/73021698/0/0]I posted a thread[/url] suggesting some improvements for the otherwise disposable weapon you get for beating the Story mode, called "The Stranger's Rifle". Being only Level 16, it's of little value outside of the Crucible... especially considering it doesn't take long to get to Level 20. It also has an annoying bug where the gun uses the reload animation for an auto-rifle rather than a pulse rifle, causing your character to stick the magazine in the wrong way. [b]But the gun looks and sounds cool, and I'd like for it be more than just a novelty or a collectors item.[/b] Some people suggested upgrading the gun to Legendary or Exotic, and having an Exotic bounty to go with it. I've thought about this a bit, so here it is; an Exotic Bounty for the Stranger's Rifle (scroll down for the final reward). [b][u]Part I[/u]: The Black Garden[/b] The Stranger tells of a great evil hidden in the mythical Black Garden. Find the Black Garden, brave the forces of Darkness protecting it, and rip out it's heart. If you succeed, perhaps she may show herself. [b]-Complete "The Black Garden" on Level 28 with the Heroic Modifier active.[/b] [b][u]Reward[/u]:[/b] [i]A Strange Rifle[/i] [b][u]Part II[/u]:[/b] [b]Return the Strange Rifle to Banshee-44[/b] The Exo Stranger rewarded you with a most unusual weapon for your triumph in the Black Garden. It's been through a lot; for this pulse rifle's full potential to be realized, you should bring it the Gunsmith in the Tower. [b]-Bring the Strange Rifle to the Gunsmith.[/b] [b][u]Reward[/u]:[/b] [i]Vault of Glass Coordinates[/i] [b][u]Part III[/u]: The Templar's Well[/b] This rifle appears to use Vex technology in it's construction, but quite unlike anything seen on Venus or Mars. Tech like this could only come from the Vault of Glass; the mysterious Vex underworld beneath Venus. Within the Vault dwells a Vex axis mind called the Templar; destroy it, and salvage whatever you can from the remains. But to fully restore it, Banshee needs components from high-quality weapons. [b]-Give the Templar's Mind Core to the Gunsmith.[/b] [b][u]Reward[/u]:[/b] [i]List of Needed Components[/i] [b][u]Part V[/u]: Quality Weapon Parts[/b] Banshee needs a number of high-quality components to finish his work on The Stranger's Rifle. Acquire the parts he needs by dismantling Rare-quality weapons or better. [b]-Acquire a Precision Barrel by dismantling Rare-quality Primary weapons. -Acquire an Arclight Power Cell by dismantling Rare-quality Special weapons. -Acquire a Mass Driver by dismantling Rare-quality Heavy weapons.[/b] [b][u]Rewards[/u]:[/b] [i]Precision Barrel, Arclight Power Cell, Mass Driver[/i] [b][u]Part VI[/u]: Bring the parts to Banshee.[/b] The components you acquired should help with restoring The Stranger's Rifle, but it's still missing vital components. Banshee does not recognize the parts that need replacing, but Ghost analysis suggests they're not of this time period. If that is so, there may be only one way to acquire them. Bring the rifle to Atheon, and confront him; the final component you need may be found in the timestream. You get an Exotic primary with Arc damage, a chance to chain lightning to multiple targets with the Exotic perk, and also the Oracle Disruptor perk found on Raid weapons; it seem fitting, seeing as you'd have to complete portion of the Raid to get the Exotic version.
