IB vs. Raid level 30s
I know I'm not the only who has:
1.experience in hard mode raid
2.both IB/raid gear
3.at least one level 30
I have enough raid gear on each of my characters to get to 30 as long as I use an exotic. I've received messages from some random that told I'm garbage because I have iron banner gear. I equipped my raid gear and tell this kid to inspect me again. Then he tells me I'm not cool. I know I'm not the only one who grinds super hard on this game. To everyone who are non-partisan on the IB/raid30s debate please give me your thoughts. I'm curious to see the people's opinions.

30 is 30. Regardless of how you get there. IB is a guarantee if you can reach a high enough rank. The raid is luck if the draw. Either way you still make it to 30. I don't see why people have to say IB are fake or vise versa

I have 15 raid completions, and I am missing the gauntlets (I understand people have 50 under their belt still missing gear). You bet when IB came out I grinded the heck out of it. I got tired of missing out on hard raid opportunities or going into a raid as 29 and trying to carry a team of more fortunate level 30.

There both earning lvl 30 as they are both hard There both basically the same In Ib you need to get a team of 6 that know what there doing and you need to win to be rewarded. Same goes with the raid, you have to find a team of 6 that know the raid and how to kill the bosses legit and you need to complete that stage so there both basically the same.

Id use it but it feels easier to.get in my experience i have 15 raid clears on my hunter and just got boots. So i can see how some say ib isnt earning since you can grind rank 3 in 2 days

1 ReplyThe exact same happened to me. Im levelling up my ib gear as I prefer the perks and some moron calls me a scrub etc etc for not having raid gear. I equip my raid set and tell the fool to suck it and choke as I dance away to the bounties board.

14 RepliesThere not both a grind, IB took a week... Raid Gear took months of finding teams and grinding every week. You guys can tell yourself its the same all you want but it is not and bungie is just doing it to get everyone to 30 before the DLC drops so you don't feel left behind. Any ten year old can be 30 now, which is great... but lets not act like there the same.

How about I put it this way? You could go into the raid and be carried by the other players and get all the raid gear (bar the helmet) in one run. I got the boots and chest piece on my first run. You get a xurned exotic and you're level 30. Legit. Amazing skills. Or you do a lot of raids and still can't get the gauntlets but have to win in the region of 100 games against decent people to get that one set of gauntlets. Why that would make someone an inferior player is beyond me. The reality is I know I can play, my clan know that so the opinion cast by someone who doesn't know me counts for nothing.

Playing against human opponents will always be more challenging then any arrangement of in game AI's and win conditions. Cheese or not its all about patterns and execution for the raid, you cant just do the same thing over and over against other people and win. I have both sets of gear but I personally believe IB is more legit. Regardless its a game for fun so it matters not how you get to 30!

What I don't get is how people don't realize that iron banner isn't easy. You have to grind like crazy and win. Raid gear isn't the easiest to get either. But there is some luck involved. I think if you get to 30 with either set, then you deserve to be 30. Just my opinion. Only raid gear I've gotten is the chest plate. So of course I went hard in IB to get the gauntlets and legs.

I have had full raid gear for awhile now. I got both pieces of IB gear as well. I also use Scout rifle/Icebreaker combo alot so the special reload on raid gloves is useless with icebreaker, but that allows me to wear the IB gloves for scout rifle reload speed. IDC how someone has 30 as long as they know what they are doing. Alot of good players have been stuck at 29 because of RNG so it's nice they can finally get 30 with IB gear.

I think anyone that thinks its harder to win in PvE than it is PvP is a -blam!-ing moron. And probably has a negative k/d in the Crucible as well.

If I had a full set of IB armor I would use it in front of any other gear. It looks awesome.

You can't look at someone and assume anything. If I see a combo I'm not going to assume that they never aquired the extra raid pieces and compensates with ib gear. I only have one character and have full raid and did purchase the boots gloves from ib. I can't stand the look of the raid boots and arms so I wear a combo. If someone sees me they assume that I don't own the others pieces......which I've had multiple pieces of head arms boots from raid. With this ONE character I've had great luck with armor in the raid. I get screwed everywhere else in this game...

I mean cmon even your casual gamer has at least 2 exotics by now and atleast some raid gear, and its hardly difficult to get to rank 3 and 4 in IB....

I have 2 lvl 30s before the iron banner. However the roll I got on my raid gear on my titan was garbage. All strength except for my helmet which was dis & str. So with the IB I had an opportunity to get gear with the stats I wanted and it looks cool to. People need to stop complaining about everything

I feel as though they gave us iron banner so we can have enough defence to try the hard raid without getting wrecked and that most people wont allow you to join without being a level 30 in their hard raids. Such as my friend and i have been doing raids since the first available time and he just couldnt get the gloves for the life of him so when iron banner showed it was like a shining light upon him.

1 ReplyIt doesn't really how you get there. Level 30 is level 30. I hate PvP and therefore decided to pass on it. I'm glad that crucible players were given a way to get to level 30 easier than just doing the raid. Same goes for anyone who was just missing the boots or gloves to get to 30. The problem I see is now level 30 players thinking they can jump on hard mode and dominate. Obviously that is not the case, and I'm sure people have learned that by now. No matter how you got to 30, congrats.
