Raid and Bounty Reward System is Fail

I am no PVPer myself and my record will show it. And as such I shouldn't feel pressured to play the Crucible in order to level up. But what really cheeses me off is that due to a stupid RNG (Do people even know what RNG stands for? Or has it become the new catchphrase for bad luck?) I have only 1 raid piece for my Titan and 1 piece for my Warlock so the only alternative I'm given is The Iron Banner event that I have neither the time nor the inclination to do. And trust me, I at least tried it with clanmates and it just isn't my thing. I shouldn't feel forced to do an event that I don't want to in order to hit 30. The reward system for VoG is Fail and needs to be fixed. Most other games with 'Raids' at least offer an alternate means of gaining gear advancement. Most are similar to the mark system Destiny uses to purchase Legendary Gear. The gear you purchase with these marks or badges is usually less appealing than the actual drops that you get in the raid, but are at least comparable in order to remain competitive with your fellow players. You as developers rally need to consider implementing an alternate system to level up a character. The same can be said about the exotic bounty system. I get bounties from the PVE bounty vendor, but for some reason, all but one of them require I play PVP. These need to be updated to offer alternate paths to completing them. I'm sure many PVPers will say "Hey, I don't want to complete X amount of strikes/weekly events' well the same should apply for them too. Please give us alternate ways to complete these. Just a little info for those of you who don't know and feel silly asking, R.N.G. stands for Random Number Generator. It basically determines a percentage chance on the spot that determines who gets loot. and then It uses another RNG to determine what that loot is.

  • I agree. The chance algorithm is a moron. There is a massive increase in item duplication. My group has run raids were we intentionally placed duplicate Raid gear in our inventory (we got it in the first place because of the broken RNG) and it's pretty clear that it increases the odds of getting the same item again. If it were truly randomized system then the odds of getting duplicate items wold be slim. But, multiple players in the same raid getting the same dupes over and over again? That's not chance, that's a poorly written RNG system.
