Reward robbing-- Favoritism or Random? VoG
In my experience, from watching my boyfriend do the raid, whether it's him doing the raid on normal first or the hard raid first during the week, it brings to mind the question of if the loot is really set on a random drop. From what I've seen as I watch him play, it appears to be more of a favoritism drop. The lowest person in the group or the person who pulls the least weight, seems to get the best rewards. I've watched him every time he goes through the raid, and every time he does, he either comes out with stuff he already has or he comes out with nothing at all. Majority of the time, he comes out with nothing but material and the end game shader. The times that he has done the raid on hard first during the week, he usually only comes out with materials and the Aspect of Glass raid ship. It is in our knowledge that doing the hard raid first during the week, you get double the rewards, but as I have seen as he goes through, the only time he gets something other than materials is when he goes through on the easy raid and he gets a weapon. We've sat here and watched as all of his friends that he plays with goes through and gets multiple weapons and/or multiple pieces of raid gear, and the Vex Mythoclast on their first time doing the raid on hard. We have come the be very irritated by the seemingly high aspect of favoritism towards the best output towards the lowest person in the group. We are not here to say or claim that we believe we are owed a good reward for all the effort that has been put into trying to get the gear that we feel is owed to us, we would just like to see that the favoritism issue gets resolved, and that the system actually exhibits behavior of being random.

If you feel this way test it by being the weakest link... I tried that and it is false ...before we killed him i dropped to lvl 27 and got no legendary gear just shards shaders and ships... It is just random..

It's all just RNG. Humans like to try and find patterns where there are none.

1 ReplyI've been carrying my buddy that's a lower level and everyone he get the best stuff, as we've Brent testing this theory and so far the people that do the least work and get carried receive the best rewards when completed.

1 ReplyI have experienced the same frustration. It's easy to just say,"oh it's just bad luck." Honestly, I have doubted this random drops from the start. Besides legendary weapons and raid chest I have gotten nothing else but ascendent material. So frustrating when I'm 3 light away from 30 thanks to iron banner guantlets and legs. I've actually had better drops from lvl 24 strikes. Even in the crucible where I am top 3 almost everytime, I barely get anything. In my opinion, Destiny favors the less experienced and less skilled.

1 ReplyI agree 100% as a noob, within about a one week period i looted nearly all of the exotic and legendary desirables and i was indeed the weakest link. Not sure how many times i joined the end of weekly or nightfall and pulled the best loot with zero kills. Or, bow many times ive been the low guy on the raid and, while i was dead waiting for a revive, the boss goes down, rewards pop up and boom top loot! I confirm rng is a lie. Weaker players are favored to keep them interested in the game. C.R.E.A.M.

I know it's frustrating, but it pays off. Being top contributor doesn't lower your chances for gear. I'm always competing for top 3 in kills on wave phases and I'm 30/30/30 and only missing the raid fusion rifle on weapons. Whether I'm top kills on oracles, suplicants, or relic holder I've had armor or weapons drop (2 exotics so far). I play the raid to have fun with friends. I'll go weeks with no loot. And even run it if I'm already loot locked.

2 RepliesIn my experience, noobs will get all the rewards. just saw a lv 23 with 3 kills and a k/d of 0.17 get a gjallahorn....... and i was ontop of the game and had the whole team in my backpack and didnt get shit. like always...... I confirm it, lowest person gets the best rewards, (don't say : nooo it's RNG. I see it happen over and over again, every single day)

5 RepliesI pull a lot of weight and seem to suffer the same fate. Coincidence I guess? Gotta love the guy thats never done hard before, gets carried, and gets Vex Mythoclast while I get the ship over and over.

1 ReplyHello, The loot you get is randomly generated. So what you are saying may look like its favoring someone but it isn't. It is all a matter of luck. Just keep playing the raid and hopefully he will get lucky. Good luck

11 Replieswell that sucks. i usually get shards so mine is just as bad. You know u can also edit your bf and make me leader, and the luck can prob change that way. hm.
