tl;dr

This is not the solution, unique materials need to be removed from TDB raid and ascendant materials need to be easier to get.
-
One of my concerns is that with the new raid is raid gear requires special shards to upgrade only available within the raid. Let say you need about 80 to upgrade four pieces and each boss drops 6 (split between energy and gear shards) it will take about 15-30 raids to max your new gear out to 32. Math may be off, at least I'm hoping, and the amount is based on the current raid / number of bosses. Keep saying the issue isn't going to be getting gear but instead finding the shards to upgrade it. Also we won't have the dailies and public events to help.

Had to pick leave unchanged since the increase gear option said remove material

7 raids, no armour. (7 is the number I've done after each weekly reset, I've done WAY more to help my friends beat it) All I've gotten are materials, which are nice, but I want more from Atheon than 6 shards and another chatterwhite.
-
I like your ideas but for the poll please add something next time that says increase raid gear drop rate and lower asscendent material drop rate because I would disagree with both of your answers
-
Materials need to be removed from boss loot tables and should only drop from chests. They should also increase the amount.
-
I made a post like this a couple weeks ago and caught the most flak ever, glad I'm not alone in thinking this! To those who freak out on you for wanting to get rid of ascendant materials from checkpoints... ITS CALLED FCKING DISMANTLE! 2-3 shards per piece it literally what you would get from a checkpoint anyway. Idiots.
-
When the expansion comes out with all the new gear, that should be enough to get you to 30, plus I heard they're removing the loot lockout from vog so you can run it as many times as you need for loot.
-
I agree. What's the point of getting a ton of materials if you don't even get the gear to use them on
-
Once you get all those pieces of gear, and the weapons, you'll be happy that you got Shards and Energies.
-
The only thing I would change is allowing to do the raid twice a week instead of one. They would have to lower the number of shards or energy per drop to compensate. This way you slightly increase your odds for raid gear. The more 30 level people out there the better I think, so I'd welcome that.

About a week till the dlc comes out!
-
Totally bump!
-
I agree
-
It should be lower chances of getting materials but they shouldn't completely remove them.

Edited by BOON FURIOUS: 11/30/2014 4:17:29 PMYep. The material drops are becoming irritating beyond belief. I have participated in 6 raids a week for about two months. Most of my runs do involve walking away with materials and or doubles, triples, quadruples of the same weapon. 14 found verdicts. Ugh. My 30 seems to be allergic to the gauntlets and bond. Yet, 11 boots? Really? The game is built this way and the algorithims are put in place to ensure we chase. And chase. And chase. It's lotto scratcher loot. We keep pushing on in hopes that the next run will deliver us SOMETHING and sometimes, just sometimes it does. Last night after three straight weeks of all materials and and doubles I was finally given the Mythoclast and it felt awesome. Persistence and patience. I am definitely not defending the loot system, as it doesn't make any sense- if it's RNG, then statistically it seems it would be far greater and an impossibility to pull five Fatebringers in a row as opposed to one weapon I need. It is what it is. We gamble with our time as opposed to money and each run is a slot pull. That's why there is always one guy hitting it big to egg the rest of the group on installing the thought process of next time it could be us. Just like walking through a casino and seeing someone hit big on a slot machine, instantly makes you want to put your money in. Over and over, because you know it COULD happen. A Raid vendor would be awesome. Earn Raid marks and sell the raid gear at very steep prices, at least we would be earning marks when getting shaft and could buy stuff that alludes us. That would be awesome.

Man, the more I read about the raid, the more convinced I am that I'll come out with nothing but mats and chatterwhites.
-
How else is bungie gunna keep this game going for 10 years? I swear rng was added because they cut 90% of the game out So they can prolong it.
-
Materials should only be received from chests within the raid. They should not be reward items for defeating the bosses or clearing sections such as the oracle or Templar phases.
-
They need other ways to get materials outside of raiding for people that don't do it or don't want to much anymore.
