Should they let us BUY Raid gear?
Before you say "NO", just hear me out.
Some people are experiencing frustrating in the Vault of Glass when it comes to getting to Level 30, or getting a specific weapon that they want. The RNG can be extremely frustrating in that regard, either giving you something already have 10 of, or just giving you lots of Ascendant Materials that you really don't need.
So I ask you this; what if there was a special kind of Vendor in the Tower that sold all the Raid gear? And the only way you could purchase this gear is with a special kind of currency that is only awarded through the Raid (in addition to normal rewards), and requires you to have a specific rank (also obtained through the Raid) in order to purchase these items?
Enter the [b][u]Raider Vanguard[/u][/b].
If this character were added to the tower, you could buy Raid gear from him if you get a high enough Raider Rank with him (there would be 10 Ranks) and enough Raid Marks (similar to Vanguard/Crucible Marks).
You would get up to 100 Raider reputation and 5 Raider marks for each challenge you complete in the Vault of Glass. That amount would double if you play it on Hard Mode. So whenever you normally get rewards; the Oracles, the Templar, the Gatekeepers, and Atheon himself; you get the idea.
Here's what I think you should be allowed to buy at each rank with the Raider Vanguard, as well as the cost.

How's that sound? You'd still have to earn your gear... except "earning" it wouldn't be so dependent on luck with the RNG. Naturally, the Vex Mythoclast would be the hardest to unlock; requiring you to have completed the Raid on Hard Mode in addition to reaching Rank 10 and having enough Raider marks to buy it.

I say yes because I can understand the frustration of getting screwed over by the rng in this game. You still have to do the raid in the first place in order to rank up so its not like they're handing it out as some people might think it is. Its more grinding but at least you have a reason to try and do the raid, you aim for that rank and if you get said item through rng then good on ya but if not then dont worry, keep doing the raid and eventually you will get what you want either from the rng or whenever you get to that rank you're aiming for. I find it fair for those people are getting screwed over by the rng, I would know because I was there and it gets old after awhile to the point its just discouraging to others. But if they more to rely on other than a random number generator then they might be more willing to do the raid more often to complete the challenges. I know people who started raiding since the first week and they still don't have raid gear, I would like to point out they have three of the same class and still no luck. Some people just have horrible luck in this game and I personally dont find it all too fair for them since they work hard to get what they need and they dont get anything but ascendant material.

I think you should change the raid armor you already have you can change it for other armor you need. I have 3 raid chest piece. And i have completed the raid 14 times and still no gauntlets or boots.

At first I thought "no". But then read the post and changed my mind even though I've pretty much got all the Raid gear I need. They should do this after the expansion is released.

...the weapons could stay random for all i care, but i see no reason why someone who's raided on Hard for a couple of times shouldn't be allowed to buy the missing piece of gear RNGezus simply won't give him/her

I was one of the people that read the title and said NO. But after reading through it's actually pretty good. the only thing is I think weapons should start coming in at rank 3 like any other vendor. And scale from there.

I think they need a loot rolling system in the raid. That way people know what rng+competition is like

2 RepliesI agreed, only because i did the maths....statistically. with 5 million copies and potential players. and RNG as it is, if there was an item with say a 1 in 10 (10%) chance of dropping it is statistically probable that one of the 5 million players of this game would have to run the raid 147 times to get the item. Not so bad except for a maximum of 3 runs a week where loot is dropped is 49 weeks. That is the best part of a year (52 weeks). so unless we can be assured a characters individual loot table's statistical drop rate is modified with each play-through and reward reducing the chance of getting that item again (experience of myself and others seems to contradict this), then a way to work towards the item you want would be most welcome, ergo currency/vendor. in terms of this specific suggestion. I'm not particularly given over to it. but just in general i think it would be nice to be able to earn at least the armor - incase you do have incredibly bad luck.

Maybe it is a good idea but dont sell stuff that drops in the hard raid... or make hard raider marks and normal raider marks...

Edited by vStomp: 11/26/2014 9:25:00 AMBut on topic they should make you use certain weapons an abilities with specific times to get the gear/weapons eg: Vex Mythoclast kill a certain amount of vex including the Templar an Atheon plus the gate keeper and not get spotted by the gorgons instead of random luck that is fudging annoying you try your hardest somewhat have a good team an still get nothing. Luck really Bungie what were you thinking I thought you said you would tell an epic tale on how you got the raid/exotic gear and weapons but this is just my opinion that they wont read thx Bungie we have pay for the campaign/Unfinished game im sad now. Sincerely Bungie.

When i read the title, i said no, but after i read through, i would highly agree with this. It is a pain to get to 30, after many attempts i finally got my final piece yesterday, so i know the struggle. So i do think this would actually be a good idea, only thing i see with this. As with vanguard/cruciable marks, you can only get 100 per week. Most people only run the raid once per week, a lot because of not enough time to play. So how many marks per completion and all would be the only issue i see honestly to keep it a bit balanced, as well as the ammount of experience for completing/how much to each rank and all, but i do like this idea.

This might sound lil of topic but I was wondering if you can get the found verdict with solar if so I would like to see it plz if not that means I've been lying to myself the reason being I think I found the verdict in solar but destroyed it no thinking if it was rare can some one help me with question this is not a joke I'm just curious. This option worked well in WoW. This or make it so bosses drop tokens that you can redeem for any armor slot.
