Random stats on Raid / Xur legendary and exotic items.

I'm not sure if this has been addressed before, but one thing that is frustrating the hell out of me right now is are the random stats that are placed on the exotic armor items Xur sells or on the raid armor that drops from VOG. To illustrate the annoyance with Xur: he sells Sunbreakers two weeks in a row, both for 13 coins. I buy the Sunbreakers during the first week. But when I check back on Xur a week later, I notice that the + Intellect stats on the Sunbreakers he's currently selling are higher than on the ones I bought the week before. I get annoyed by this, because now I have gauntlets that are actually a bit 'worse' than the exact same ones he's selling a week later for the exact same price. One 'd expect that the items that Xur sells always have the same stats and perks. This problem is made even worse with Raid gear in my opinion. Yesterday I completed the Raid on normal and practically jumped out of my seat when I concluded that I was lucky enough to loot 2 Raid armor items for my Warlock (the chest and the boots). But after going to orbit and checking out my precious loot I noticed something that annoyed the hell out of me: both Raid armor items only carried + strength on them. Which is more or less useless for my Sunsinger whereas I'm going for + Intellect and + Discipline for PVE content. So my joy of looting these supposedly epic items I really wanted quickly disappeared as I realized that I'm probably never going to use these items and will have to hope that the next time I'll be lucky enough to loot them again but with Intellect and/or Discipline stats. [b]I realize Destiny's loot system is based on sheer luck and the fact that you may or may not have loot is something I can simply live with. But when you are lucky enough to actually have loot, it should at least be so that it's actually loot that you'll be able to use and is comparable to the very same items other people have looted.[/b] I know this comes of as a rant post, but it's just an opinion where I'd suggest to keep the RNG/luck loot based system, but to make the stats on loot items fixed so that every (for example) raid chest armor piece has the same stats value for every Warlock that has them. Not sure what you guys think?

  • Personally yes it's annoying, but I don't put much stock in it. The stats aren't THAT game changing with small values but yeah your strength issue is. Genuine annoyance.
