Dear Actibungie

This is not a rant. This is educated feedback from an avid gamer. I am taking a hiatus from Destiny. I am leaving to play World of Warcraft. I had very high hopes for this game. I bought the preordered game and purchased the expansion pass. I read all the hype and was very excited for Destiny to release. There are so many things wrong with this game I could write a lengthy novel addressing each one but I feel it would fall upon deaf ears. This game was supposed to be an FPSMMORPG ...not even close. I'm tired of being stuck at lvl 29 with so little to do. So many major bugs have gone months now without being addressed. I will be back in December to at least see this new expansion but I doubt it will make the game much better. You got my money. You win. But you won't fool me again. There is still hope for Destiny. But being greedy and releasing so little content and not addressing major issues will be the death of you.

  • Your opinion is your opinion and no one can fault you for whether you enjoy the game or not. Too bad you aren't having fun in the game like I am. What I can fault you for, though, is stating
This game was supposed to be an FPSMMORPG
That is BEYOND false. They even actively avoided the term MMO when marketing and even specifically stated that Destiny is NOT AN MMO, it is a "Shared World Shooter" (as they say). You could say "I was hoping this was an FPSMMORPG", and that would be a fair statement. Saying that it was supposed to be one is absolutely a lie.

    • Ive been stuck at lvl 27 because I just cant bring myself to go through the same friggin missions over and over and over and OVER again just to get materials so I can lvl up so I can continue getting matierials to continue leveling up. I just cant do it any more. Theres no point, no rhyme or reason, and its not even fun. I get on to help out buddies every now and then but usually go weeks without touching it.

    • Absolutely feel the same way.. For everyone that has an opposing opinion and are happy with the game they are playing, I'm happy for you. I would love to be able to say I was happy with my purchase, that I was having fun with the game.. Paid for a limited edition plus a regular copy for my brother so I could play with him. He stopped playing after a week. Myself, I've tried several times to put the game back in and play, and I start the same old grind and think to myself, I just want to play something else. Far cry 4, DA: I, hell, even AC unity was pulling my attention before the other two just released.. So I sit and I grind, all the while just not enjoying the experience, and inevitably stop playing in favor of a more engaging game.. I've had enough grinding stuck at 29, with few options to progress, and little to no reason to even do so.. I also will surely check back in to see the expansions I've already paid for, but I fear it will be more of the same and grow old all too quick. The mechanics of the game are beyond solid, it is an absolute blast shooting through mobs, but only for so long.. And then on top of the content growing stale, is the reoccurring theme of dictating the way I should choose to experience and enjoy your game.. "The intended way" to play your game.. I get that you(bungie) had a vision for this game.. That in and of itself is great.. Is shows passion.. But then to limit the way an "open world" game is experienced because it doesn't exactly fall in line with your vision, defeats the whole purpose of an open world and in my opinion is just not smart.. The players are your consumers.. There is so much potential here, but to place boundaries over top of legit strategies to fights is something I just don't get.. Why wouldn't you want people to be creative with the way they approach the world you built? And I'm not talking about obvious exploits but rather creative thinking and strategy. I just don't get it.. Ok, I'm done.. Simply agreement of a sentiment turned into an unintended rant.. I want to love this game, but it just seems like you guys had a grand vision, but no clue how to put it together, and now every patch is a fumble in the dark.. Here's hoping that when I come back to checking out the expansions that you guys have come up with a better understanding of how to align your vision with player freedom, and of course content, and an actual endgame..

      • I agree with this OP. Before anyone says we are complaining, or should gtfo, or whatever... remember, this is the destiny community's forums, not your forums. We have a right to be here, to try to help bungie in whatever way we can. OP wasn't angry, malicious, whiny. He was calm, even mannered, and explained himself quite well. Bungie, if you read this, please think about the past bungie, the ones that had their gamers on the same page, treated them like family. The bungie of today is completely different. What changed it? You won't answer, I bet, but think about it. And if OP just happens to be a girl, my apologies, just change the he's to she's, and etc. Later!

        • I agree. The shared world fps concept is a failed concept. You cannot tell any story with ever repeating fights with the same mobs. I don't understand how they got it financed because without monthly payments it has to be financed with DLCs. And a shared world is unnecessary if you grind most of the time alone anyway. Only PvP and fireteam missions need servers. And making everything a chore has killed the concept once and for all. What has to be changed has alteady said over and over again. Destiny = failure
