Matchmaking for VOG Raid ???
I was just wondering with the updates coming thru, would It not be possible to allow matchmaking for VOG Raids for those of us that can't seem to find other guardians to help with the battle. Or at least have the option for matchmaking. It's really frustrating trying and waiting to find others willing to play VOG RAID

I have to disagree with this idea cause I'd like to know who I'm playing with and what they can do. I've led a group of randoms through the raid on normal, and oh my god it was a nightmare. They didn't know what do let alone did not listen to me. Never doing that again.

Terrible idea. I'm sure you have played a strike mission with randoms and they just dropped out or AFKed. Same thing would happen with this. People would leave to just get a checkpoint and leave. There are ways to get a full raid group quickly. If you can't put the effort in to find 5 people, then why put the effort into the raid?

Listen I've done it a few times, on both difficulties, with randoms from the forum. Matchmaking can work. Will there be issues? Sure, nothing is ever easy with bungie regarding this game. But if people use a matchmaking option, it's with the understanding that they are along for the ride start to finish. Provided they aren't getting plowed by constant animal errors. As far as mics go, every next gen system came with one no excuses. If you don't have a mic, don't attempt to matchmake a raid. But then there are NAT errors all over the place too. Matchmaking can work.

I'm with this suggestion 100%. It is currently a freakin' CHORE to find 5 others to do a raid or weekly heroic, and maybe I don't want to stop playing my game to find some dudes to play with. On a similar vein, maybe I don't want to stop playing the game to take a quick peek at the grimoire. Maybe I want to actually play the game and not having to deal with such chores.

This will never happen because if it did it would mean Bungie actually took a broken concept and listened to the majority of players and gave them what they want. They don't like doing that because it makes too much sense. Having a lot of sense is OP in Bungie's eyes and they will need the shit out of you.

3 RepliesI see why you would request this but I disagree. The difficulty and team coordination required to [u]complete[/u] the raid requires that players be invested in the team long enough to stick through the difficulty. Matchmaking is quick and random and thus requires minimal investment in the team. The consequence of minimal investment + high difficulty is players will drop out constantly. A matchmade raid experience would be pretty terrible for most because the above issues would prevent people from completing the content. Bungie designed the raid for high level invested players who are more likely to complete (aka enjoy) the raid at its high difficulty level because they will more than likely complete it. If you want enjoy the raid content you still can even without a group of friends. The #recruitment section of the forums is made especially for this function. Create or respond to a LFG topic with you GT, mission you would like to run (raid, nightfall, etc.), console, class/level and time you would like to begin. Easy as that. Sooner, perhaps than later. When Bungie realise that Destiny player numbers are dwindling because of other games taking up players time, less and less are going to be available for doing the raid. This is just theory, but it could, at some point, be of relevance.

You will only beat the raid with 5 inexperienced others over a long period of hours that most randoms don't have the fortitude to deal with. Then there will be threads about people bailing at chest 1 and other crap.

Agree! MULTIPLE threads on adding matchmaking to raids and weekly. id even like MM on story but...take what I can get

2 RepliesYeah I've been saying this since day -blam!-ing one. It would also help full slots on a game in progress, I still haven't beat Atheon because people just leave. The weekly heroic and Nightfall should also have matchmaking.
