And after all that complaining..?
I'm quite annoyed at the audacity of the minority that pitched a fit... or perhaps it was overstressed by those wishing for any reason to complain, attempting to use any points they can to start an argument...
I am referring to the new in-game voice chat option... I personally didn't mind either way if it was introduced as anyone I needed to hear me was in a chat group...
What is amazing to me is that all day yesterday and some of this morning, NO ONE joined into the team chat function... zero players.. I made it a point to try and test this, like all betas given to me, with only random groups to see its functionality and if any issues were around.. but it is quite difficult when it is not utilized by any other player... I could understand more if it wasn't announced when a player uses the chat function...
After all the moaning, no one's using this feature..? Am I to conclude that this was a complaint by a snide entitlistic few that craved a reason to bellow..?
If anyone is utilizing this feature and had successful contact, please list any issues you had so that I can attempt to find them myself... also let me know how often you have contact with other players utilizing this beta feature for reference... thx

Ive tried at least 30 times in both strikes and the crucible and only 1 time did i get a response. Didn seem to have any problems thou... Although we were still talking when the match was over and it cut us off

I'm willing to bet it would have been a whole lot different if chat had been in the game from start and didnt require manual setup. So basically, the ship sailed. Noteworthy, the majority of those who would use it moved on to Halo.

11 RepliesI'm confused about your "outrage." The community banned together to introduce a feature that should've shipped with the game in the first place. We got it done. Now, Bungie poorly implements this change we all asked for, and [i]you[/i] are they one upset about this? Get real! In game voice chat should have existed by default, Opt in should be the default (Opt out should be a choice). This is social gaming 101 and Bungie even messed [i]that[/i] up. It's like Bungie got amnesia and has no idea what makes their games successful in the first place.

Not many people know how to even use the feature, how to turn it on or turn it off. And if you are in a fireteam, there is no way to default to ingame chat either

Agreed I haven't ran into too many people. But the people who I have found that use it have all den full grown adults that appreciated the chat. But I felt the same anyone I regularly play with. Is in the fire team.

I had one match where another person and i were talking. Unfortunately, matchmaking separated us on the next match and it's been quiet ever since.

Played a couple of matches IB with a pretty solid dude. Added him and we'll probably play some more this week. There are few people using it tho, just ask yoo anyone got a mic?

1 ReplyPretty sure the group behind the chat crusade was the squeakers. And i have little interest in listening to their voices pitch as the die repeatedly trying to go down the same corridor over and over.

2 RepliesMy group of 4 uses it every match. Often the other 2 people on our team just tune in to listen to our rants but we have actually met alot of new and interesting people. Sometimes if Im playing alone im often watching tv or listening to music so I opt out of joining the team chats. I feel like this may be a common occurrence.

8 RepliesI don't turn on team chat in Crucible until my first death. Those few seconds it takes to activate at the start are way too crucial.

Edited by Doc SoCal: 11/20/2014 6:26:22 PMI think many players are oblivious to the location of the button and that it defaults to off. That or they don't like to have random people hear them sobbing when the RNG monster falcon punches them over and over. Those are my two guesses. :P
