For the Titans who are familiar with the suppressor grenade, skip to the end, I want your opinions on what you think of it.
Recently, I decided to experiment with some of the grenades that I never use in both striker and defender subclasses, and the last grenade I tried out was the suppressor grenade. I initially ignored it because I thought it was a more pvp focused grenade, and it's also very rarely used by other defender titans that I've encountered in the crucible. After messing around with it a bit and testing it's abilities on enemies, I realized that the suppressor grenade is probably the strongest grenade in the Titan's arsenal.
Here's why:
It has the highest damage output
This one is really a matter of my own personal opinion because I've noticed that most of the other titan grenades in both subclasses explode more than once, but with a lower damage ouput.
The closer the enemy is to the epicenter of the blast, the more damage is done
The first enemy I tried to test the suppressor grenade's ability on was a level 28 hobgoblin during one of the pre-DLC daily heroic story missions (The Black Garden). I hadn't fired a single shot at him because I wanted to test a theory which prompted me to try out the grenade in the first place. I tossed the grenade, which landed at his feet, and the single explosion killed him instantly. A bit later I chucked another one and another level 28 hobgoblin, but I overshot this one by a hair. The hobgoblin was near the edge of the blast radius, but still inside it. The blast didn't kill him, but damaged him enough to test my theory, which brings me to my next point.
Suppressor grenade is incredibly useful in pve
This is going to be a breakdown of each enemy type and the grenade's suppression effect (damage is not a factor) on each enemy (ultras are immune to suppression as far as I know):
Fallen
Dreg - unable to use grenades
Vandal - unaffected as far as I know
Stealth Vandal - disables cloak
Captain - unable to teleport
Servitor - unable to teleport
Hive
Thralls - unaffected
Acolytes - unaffected
Knights (updated) - unable to raise shield and enrage
Wizards (updated) - unable to use any attack (credit to kirokill)
Ogre (updated) - unable to enrage (credit to camby9210)
Vex
Harpy - unaffected
Goblin - unaffected
Hobgoblin - unable to use immune shield
Minotaur - unable to teleport
Cabal
Psions - unable to use psion blast (directional arc energy wave attack)
Legionary - disables jet pack
Centurion - same as Legionary
Phalanx (updated)- unaffected (credit to veration)
Colossus (updated) - unable to use missles (credit to TSbluemagic)
That's it for the breakdown. The grenade is also useful for pvp as it disables all abilities, effectively throwing you back to your level 1 days, for a short time. The effect of the grenade only lasts 10 seconds but it can really turn the tide of battle, especially against those pesky hobgoblins during the gatekeeper portion of the raid. Now the only downside of the grenade is, if you get caught in the blast, taking damage will be the least of your problems because you can and will be affected by your own grenade.
Edit 1: When used in pvp, it can cancel an enemy's super. Credit to all the guardians that have posted about that.
Edit 2: Omnigul is the only boss this is affected by the grenade. I know quite a few you you guys have mentioned that so the credit goes to everyone who has mentioned it.
Edit 3: A thank you to all the guardians who have posted to this topic. This is my most active topic to date, let's keep it going! Spread the word and help the easily overlooked suppressor grenade earn it's place in every Titan's arsenal.

If you're not using flashbangs in end game PvE then you're doing it wrong.
-
This is the most annoying grenade to go up against. So glad not a lot of guardians use it.
-
Use it all the time.
-
How is Omnigul affected?
-
Can't wait until TTK when we have whole teams of night stalkers and defenders suppressing everything
-
Yes. It -blam!-ing bounces on the smallest crack and comes back at me
-
I swear I've never seen anyone use it until today in IB, and I learned how effective it was after I got owned by it.
-
I feel like it should do 2x shield damage.

Well Good to know! Those psions on PoE 35 can be a pain with their arc wave. Thanks a lot! :D
-
I use it to supress blink8ng enemies in pve in pvp i go straight striker
-
I only use it as a troll grenade. There are good plays you can do with using a bubble on an important point, then grenading the people coming to super the bubble. Its a hate mail generator. Magnetics are better 99% of the time, though.
-
Wizards can still attack. They just can't use the poison cloud. And it makes all vex unable to teleport. And in terms of testing damage you should test it on a lvl 32 mission at least to get a reasonable result for high-level/same level activities.
-
I looked at the suppressor and looked and looked at it. I thought it was stupid and never used but, after reading your breakdown of it I have changed my mind. It makes want to experiment with it later tonight. I'll see how effectively I can use it.

Suppressor grenade seems a little buggy to me in PvP. I've had several occasions of blade dancers being hit by it, having the fun icon over their heads saying they are suppressed, but still continuing on with their super to eat me up. Not sure why it is.
-
it doesn't suppress blade dancers fully, it only takes away there defence buff.
-
I like them except for the high bounce factor, would be perfect if they stuck on impact.
-
From my experience, if you toss a suppressor grenade into a pool of enemies, those that were nearer to the centre of blast will get killed instantly, others will have their health damaged to 40~50% or their shields disabled, which in turn allow the enemies to be taken down much faster.
-
So it does not supress their elemental shields?
-
I usually run them

Edited by Evanescent: 6/23/2015 1:10:02 AMI like the damage of them, but I find a lot of abilities aren't suppressed, which is disappointing. Two examples occurred just today, when I "suppressed" a striker titan and he was still able to shoulder charge me. Why should careful timing of a grenade be inferior to a melee attack? Second, I "suppressed" a warlock and they were still able to throw a solar grenade at me afterwards, securing their kill. The first one I can understand. But if you can't even suppress grenades, what is the point of it in PvP, other than accidentally nuking myself so I can't fly away ;_;
-
They are the best! Golden Gun? Suppress. No prob now!
-
Stupid post. Why use suppression grenades when you can use a hunter.
