Before you run to the forums to complain about a class, you really should play as that class first

I know, I know...asking the internet to actually try something before complaining about it is a lot to ask. If you can't be bothered to put in the time to do this, then just look at my profile, see my 3 characters at level 29, and trust that what I'm saying is right and isn't biased since I have no "main" class I'm invested in. Below is a list of little annoyances that you don't notice unless you play as this class a lot. What looks super easy to do and is overpowered to you is seen entirely different from the person actually using the ability: 1) Hunter Arc Blade isn't just an instant win that auto-tracks players across the map as I mindless spam the melee button. Things that have happened to me during Arc Blade: - Activate it, but then someone else clears the room with a rocket or a different super (wasted super) - Take a rocket to the face as soon as it's activated - Players gets in a weird spot on the map, and even thought I'm right in front of him I can't hit him - Jump in the air to hit someone with it, he gets killed by someone else, I lunge forward and end up off the map and dying - Activate, go invisible, charge into a room with 3-4 people in it. They happen to all be looking at the direction I came into the room from and drop me before I can even get one kill. - FYI, you have to be facing toward the player you are killing to hit them. It isn't as if spamming the melee button turns you around so you can hit someone behind you. - Someone firing from the hip, or with a perk that increases their speed while zoomed, backpedaling while firing at me and killing me before I can get in melee range *No, these of course don't happen all of the time, but they do happen SOME of the time.* 2) Any class using the sticky grenades - You only notice when they successfully stick them to you. You probably don't notice all the times where the player missed with them. 3) Shoulder Charge - It takes 2 seconds to charge up, and it eventually runs out of charge and there is no timer on your screen. Many times it de-activates just before you can use it on someone - Shotgun to the face, this happens soooooo often when trying to use shoulder charge. At least 25% of the time if not more I get pinged with a shotgun before my shoulder charge hits the person 4) Nova Bomb - There is a perk that has it track (a little), but it isn't as if you can just activate it from across the map and expect to hit anything. - It is very difficult to hit with it accurately when you can't jump up in the air - There are very few points that are open. Sometimes the bomb smacks into a wall, getting totally wasted

Why no comment on instagib FoH? That shit is the shittiest shit ever, man. Arc Blade requires MUCH more skill level than every other super: 1) FoH = instagib while immortal. 2) Nova Bomb = so I you tell me I CANT EVEN KILL HIM BEFORE HE LAUNCHES IT? Neither Arc Blade nor Golden Gun offer that kind of thing. Another immortal instagib (but you kinda kill him after he launches it) 3) Self res = melee instagib, but you can kinda counter it by running away, warlocks only throw grenades during this for some reason, they never think to shoot. 4) Bubble = you stand inside and dance, shotgun ready, while prey comes to you. Can be countered only with another super or jailbait (dance outside to lure him out, than skillfully shotgun him and proceed to teabag). 5) GG = so much aim assist, if not for the invisibility that gets you off from the radar, I would always play Gunslinger. And that 4th shot hat is a must, + splosion makes my day.

If a super cancels out another super than I consider it a balanced match up. For example void walker super blows up the titans bubble, titans fist of havoc killing blade dance and nothing killing resurrection. Anyways for the original poster I have to say you are completely right, I have both a warlock and a blade dancer and am pretty sure I understand the issues that a titan faces. What I wanted to say is that you are wrong about 1 point but that does not mean you are wrong about arc blade not being as good as the newbies on this forum seem to think. When you use arc blade you use the left stick to aim it so you can hit people that are behind you but it is a blind swing it isn't an auto swing, if the person aims correctly with the left analog stick they hit the person if they are close enough it doesnt auto home in on them.

    • I'll have you know that i play as a hunter and died countless times as soon as i use my bladedancer by titan shoulder charge, warlock melee, shotguns, nova bomb, fist of havoc (i like to call it fist of panic because they like using in 1v1 situation when they panic), grenades, etc etc

      • I have all three classes at Lvl 30. I started off as a Hunter first (played as a Warlock in the Beta). Having time on all 3 characters in Raid a lot and in PvP. For Crucible, I now favor the Warlock the most, followed by Hunter, and lastly Titan. For Raid, I favor Warlock > Titan > Hunter. But at Atheon, I prefer Hunter due to Golden Gun. Overall, they have their Pluses and Minuses. I kind of view them as a Paper, Rock, Scissors kind of balanced imbalance. But overall, the Warlock is the most Versatile for all game modes. If I were to pick only one, it would be the Warlock. But because I started off as a Hunter in the retail Destiny game, it forced me to learn how to play Raid much more effectively, since Hunters are at a distinct disadvantage in nearly all parts of the Raid (except Gorgons and Atheon). Playing Hard Raid as a Warlock is easy now. Overall, I like having the variety, as this game is a super repetitive grind of the same sh!t over and over and over again. So I'm covering my bases to have all 3 classes ready for whatever drops in the DLC's. Not to mention not really being too disappointed when I get an RNG Armor that's often for a different class, no problem, I have one of each!

      • I hate moving slightly and nova bombing having my character float a little to the right and waste it on the edge of the wall in front of me, causing me to lose half shield and get killed instantly by whoever I missed. Happens a lot on Shores of time... just that god damn map for me.

        • Thing is I have played all 3, and Hunter is easily the best since he has the lowest amount of risk for his supers. He can activate them anywhere he likes, and wander a bit to kill with them. Titan and Warlock don't have that, you have to actually commit to using your super, and hope you actually kill your target. 1 kill is easy, but a multikill is dicey, because so many factors have to line up. Look at how many super multi kill medals each class gets and compare. That should sum up why people are so rustled by the Hunter.

        • The amount of times I have died when loading the Hunter's powers is ridiculous. Warlocks and Titans use theirs as an instant kill panic button. I have to get behind cover, load up the super, then ... more often that not ... get shot at by three or four players and die.

I have all three characters as well, but I am not all that great at PvP so I don't play it is often as others, but I am familiar with the abilities of all the classes. The Dancer Arc Blade, to me, is a pain in the ass. There are some that are REALLY good with it and therefore take out a lot of people without dying, but that Hunter probably spends a LOT (like 4+) hours a day doing crucible and is that good with Arc Blade through practice. I don't use arc blade often and I tend to get my ass kicked before I can kill a couple people. The Gunslinger, in my opinion, is the better option because you can have 4 shots (1 hit kill) do it from a distance, and have a little time to get to more players. When using Arc Blade you have to hope there are a lot of peeps in the same area, and very rarely does a person get more than 3 kills anyway so I choose Gunslinger > BladeDancer. Titan's Ward of Dawn is more of a "Team" ability rather than an ability to "assist" in getting kills in crucible. You can give your whole team buffs which in turn will help your whole team rack up more kills faster for the amount of time that Ward of Dawn is up, b/c for some reason when people see it up, it is like a magnet drawing in everyone else. The Shoulder Charge is a fun ability to use, but with all the Shotgunners and Fusion Rifle'ers you can only get a kill with it about 50% of the time so it isn't much of an advantage, just a fun way to kill others or to see your own character get charged...lol... Hulk Smash is (I know I am going to say it) the closest thing to Nova Bomb in terms of raw killing ability in a set area. Yes the Nova Bomb can be thrown to a safe distance away from the Warlock, but if you are a good Titan, the "Hulk Smash" has an ability to throw it as well and it has a pretty significant range. "Death from Above" can be aimed quite accurately, granted you could get killed in the process, but so could a Warlock setting off a Nova Bomb. Warlock Sunsinger's best ability is, you guessed it, Fireborn....BUT...it isn't an ability like Arc Blade, Hulk Smash, Nova Bomb, in which you can kill a lot of people quickly....OR IS IT!?!?!?! lol...just messin around, but seriously when you come back from Fireborn you can 1 shot melee anyone around you about 85% of the time and that is why most people get pissed about Fireborn. The Nova Bomb is self explanitory in what it can/can't do, but it has its drawbacks as well...it is the only super you can kill yourself with if you mis-fire. The animation is a little lengthy and you can die before getting it off, and other than that is a decent super as well. I am not trying to step on any toes or claim that I am right while others are wrong, these are just my opinions since I have quite a bit of experience with all classes. Again, I don't PVP often b/c I am a PVEer and only PVP when with some buddies every once in a while. I didn't go into Grenades b/c I am sure this post is LENGTHY already and I am sorry if I wasted your time. I hope this helps some that don't have all classes. Main thing that I think is most important is that those players that use their abilities to the max (by PVPing MANY hours a day) are the ones that give the impression that "THAT SUPER IS OP" b/c of the skill they have with it. Sorry for the long post!! EDIT: I may not be 100% accurate with all this information but I am pretty confident in my explanations. Like I said, don't PVP a lot and the Invulnerableness during Nova Bomb or Fist of Havoc doesn't apply when jumping to set them off in the air which is when I meant that peeps get killed before getting it off. HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!!!

              • I hate when you smack some who is about to use their super In the face with a shot gun and they don't die. And blade dancer is by far the most op spec ever. Kills a warlock warlock uses super revive turns around kills him again. Warlock uses nova bomb hunter teleports away than back in kills warlock. Titan uses hulk smash hunter teleports away than back in kills titan. Titan uses bubble waits till bubble drops hunter pops super kills everyone who was in the bubble. Seen this happen way to many times.

Arc Blade isn't an instant win, but it's still the best super in PvP. I have no idea why people disagree with this and talk about it taking skill. Yeah, it's situational, but it's the best super at getting a high number of kills. I have used each class in PvP and can tell which one gets me the most kills. I have used my Titan less and also used Defender more in PvP. My stats tell me that Arc Blade is the best super. Although, I have switched between Bladedancer and Gunslinger, I'd say 80% of the time I've played in PvP as my Hunter, I've been a Bladedancer. In my total amount of kills as a Warlock, 12% of my kills are from my super. As a Hunter, 17% of my kills are from my super. Sure, you can waste your super by using it at the incorrect time or your teammates kill the people that you're going for. It's going to happen. It happens when you use Nova and Fist of Havoc, too. If I activate Arc Blade and die before I get a kill by gunfire, I have used it at the wrong time. That happens on occasion and it's my fault. A lot of the time, I die to Fist of Havoc. That's just unfortunate and there's nothing I can do about it. Even when I melee my opponent first, he survives and his super kills me. I find that I rarely die to Nova, while in Arc Blade. If I use it at the correct time, I should get at least 2/3 kills with it. Most players just stand there and shoot with an auto rifle and that is unlikely to kill me. With the perk that regens your health after every kill, you can go on a rampage. Especially if they're all in a similar area and there are no Titan's with a super ready. Pressing R1 doesn't make you lunge 10 feet, but you still auto aim towards enemy players. The auto aim isn't 100% effective, but it works the majority of the time. To be fair, though, every offensive super is very powerful. You can make complaints about Nova, Fist of Havoc and Golden Gun, too. Arc Blade is still the best and you will get the most kills with it. Unless you consistently use it at the incorrect time, but that's your fault for doing so. You can panic super with Nova and Fist of Havoc, but that will only get you one kill. It's a waste of a super. I'd actually rather someone do that than use it effectively and kill 2/3 guys. It's also rare to find a whole team grouped up and in range for a multi kill. I have never killed more than 4 people with one Nova. I have also only gotten 4 people once. I'd say 50% of the time, I'll get 2 kills with it. They don't have to be all right next to each other when using Arc Blade. You have quite a bit of time to go from one player to another and continue killing. I see quite a few complaints about Fist of Havoc on here, too, but with my experience as my Titan, it's difficult to get a decent multi-kill. Most of the time, you will die while running towards a group. It doesn't have amazing range. I find Nova better, because you can launch it from a decent distance away, due to the better range. It's just easier to die while in the animation for Nova than it is while using Fist of Havoc.

                • Blade dancer arc blade has the highest potential pay off if done correctly but its also carries the most risk in using it. FOH and Nova bomb are fire and forget, once you use it its effect is done and its instant. Titan bubble keeps you safe, as does the distance advantage you get with GG. Blade dancer must get point blank without getting killed. Sure arc blade gets a small reduction in damage but its not even enough to keep 2 players with auto rifles from killing you at 20-25 ft range before you close the gap. Most games have a class like this where its a big payoff if you utilize your ability correctly, however you pay the steepest price if your careless about when you activate it.

                • I'm sure the arc blade tracking isn't perfect, but I have seen so many people that can't get a kill get their ult and get a brainless triple so many times. It really is a win button. I mean the ult is just part of it, blade dancer gets extra agility and a blink as well, so I am not sure how you quote situations about guys ads and kiting someone with a kit like that. Personally I don't care, because I think pvp in this game is so far gone it isn't even worth mentioning, but trying to get gear from Iron Banner has really opened my eyes to the gear/class imbalance this game has. They will have to dangle some pretty amazing rewards in front of me after this to make me go back into pvp after this grind.

                  • got to admit sticky grenades are too easy to use as it has waay to much assist. Yes i have used them and dont know how i have stuck people. Dont think they're OP as it is only one kill, they just need to dial down the assist. shoulder charge is meh, it was fun to use when no one else was using it but it is very easy to counter. nova bomb is pretty broken, the AOE is gigantic and its not hard to use....feel like there is a hidden defense buff to it too (without the helm perk)

                    • I'm strictly Hunter right now. I have no desire to play any other class until perhaps maybe late in the game's life (towards the release of the second) in order to get the trophies for maxing out a Titan/Warlock subclass. That being said, I have no qualms over those classes whatsoever the way that they cry about Hunter being OP. I look at it like this...Pocket, Mythoclast, ARs and Shotties were whined about to all hell for being OP and got nerfed quickly. The only thing that's been bitched about more than all of those combined is BladeDancer, and there''s yet to be anything done. It's not even been addressed. Why? Because Arc Blade isn't OP. Arc Blade in PVP is not a guaranteed kill compared to Nova Bombs, FoHs and the like...and if the complainers used BladeDancer, they'd know this. But of course, they don't...and they will continue to bitch, but they will continue to be ignored.

It is just pride, some people just cannot cope with being beat... there HAS to be an excuse.
Before you run to the forums to complain about a class, you really should play as that class first
Logic like this has no place here.... even if it is some of the best advice I have seen. ; ) I have played all three classes since day one, seemed like the best way to get the full experience to me but I do tend to over simplify.
