Does anybody have an explanation to why 6 person fireteams are not a thing in patrol? I think it would be awesome to be able to run around patrol with more clan members, especially considering the limited number of activities 6 people could do together to begin with.

Edited by GummiBearRampage: 11/18/2014 8:36:18 PMIf you could have 6 on a fire team, they could spread out to cover must areas of the entire map and simply crush patrol missions. Even with 3 or just 2 people splitting up is the way to go. So I assume it's just a balance issue. As much as I think it'd be cool to do patrol with more friends,I think it would entail a complete rework of rep/xp gains on Bungies end

3 man fireteam is cool for strikes. But a 6 man fireteam for patrols would be sick!

A 3 man team is a steamroller in patrol. A 6 man team would require harder patrol settings, which I am all for. I would love to see some really hardcore patrol modes.

Because you'd either: 1. Have too few enemies to keep a 6 man patrol team occupied and itnerested. 2. Have too many enemies to allow solo or two-man fireteams to play in public spaces without getting overwhelmed. 3. You'd have to duplicate the entire public playspace server infrastructure. ...and your $60 only goes so far in paying for all of this. Now, if you want to pay Bungie a $15-$25 a month SUBSCRIPTION fee like many MMO players do...THEN we can talk about what Bungie can do with all that money you're going to pay them to play Destiny on an ongoing basis.

You could rank up with extraordinary speed, like be a faction level higher in 30 minutes with the nightfall bonus. It just doesn't work.

Would be cool if we had vehicles that all 6 could ride on. But the current content isn't enticing enough to have 6 people get together on patrol.
-
This would be cool if there were set times when world bosses spawn and you need a good team to take them down . Or like an massive war between cabal and vex on Mars with huge bosses. It would be like public events on crack

Because you could literally complete your bounties without firing a shot.

Because they've hardly got enough content to keep 1 person occupied in patrol, let alone 6.
