So what challenges do you think the new raid in the upcoming DLC The Dark Below will hold for us Guardians?
As Bungie quite clearly thought the current one wasn't that challenging they made the random teleport transition...
What do you think could be in the new one to try to push each class to the limit with great team work?
I think there's gonna be moving oracles at least...
Maybe lasers? Lol, like from the Devil's Lair strike during the mesh layers?....

Hopefully there is a door that Dinklebot will screw up opening and we can have wave upon wave of Thralls.
-
Why would there be oracles? The oracles come from the time stream and the vex control time not the hive. I think it will end up being all new things in the next raid besides maybe another jump puzzle. You have to remember vog was all vex objects and story mission add ons. So the new raid would have a lot to do with hive objects and story mission things.

completely flat arena without pillars or anything to hide behind. gjallarhorn only strips shield. once boss health goes down to 75% it bumps back up. boss randomly teleports 2 team members straight into orbit. rng is reworked to it's masterpiece, all loot removed from the loot table.
-
Crota will be a Knight, like Sardok. The first boss will probably be Phogoth 2.0 (if the leak was right, we'll run from him on Sparrows. Sounds awesome.) Of course, the fights won't just be exactly like Sardok and Phogoth again, they'll have their own attacks and mechanics.
-
They should implement Farming into the new raid too Instead of how you open the VOG by controlling synch plates, You have to contribute 64x spirit blooms, 64x spinmetal, 64x heliums, and 64x relic iron to open the door. 128x of each for hard mode.

I for one, would like to see frickin' sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their frickin' heads.
-
From the trailer i'm expecting an absurdly high number of enemies. I'm also hoping for something like the mass effect 2 enemy that would possess the normal troops and then become pretty powerful. Combine that with the number of enemies shown in the trailer and that would be an interesting fight.

Did you look at the stuff people data mined? It matched up with what someone supposedly said about the new raid. That person said the new raid takes place on a giant hive ship, that there was a part where players would want to use a sparrow to outrun a giant ogre's attacks or something, and that the boss fights were more interesting. They also named a good number of bosses that have apparently been confirmed via data mining if you look it up, so I'm hoping those "leaks" are true. In the latest data-mine they found some raid item perks; a Titan chest that can increase agility I think during a condition called Oversoul's Gaze(The Oversoul is what the last boss was claimed to be before), an item that if I remember right increased damage while holding a weapon from a "Hive Swordbearer"(If we can get multiple swords of Crota running around like an infinite blade dancer I'd be so down for that), and a weapon from the raid that apparently has a possible perk to make enemies light up when shot. Suggesting there's a darkroom segment. I'd totally love the last part, I thought the coolest thing with the hive was that first mission where it was really tense in the dark and even after everything went to shit you were being ambushed with nothing but a flashlight.

Mine and my clan's speculation is the "Sword of Crota" in the story mission was just a "copy" in the process of being made to equip their other Knights with and that the real Sword of Crota is with Crota himself. From there, we're speculating several more (6 to be exact) will be picked up by Guardians, in which we will be slaying swarms of acolytes and thralls to charge our supers, to break his "shield" in order to damage him. THAT would be awesome!
-
Me and my friends were hoping that when you get to xur he teleports all of you to a room, each person in their own room and they have to do a one on one duel with him and if you get more then three wins you all get teleported back to the main room he will be very weak and everyone can gun him down

I don't think there will be oracles at all. Oracles are part of the Vex enemy class so if Hive have oracles, that will be uber-lazy. Also, the lasers are in a fallen environment. Yes there are a few hive in there, but its fallen territory. So in my opinion, both your suggestions sound highly unlikely in a Hive environment. But again, that is just my speculation.
-
Im open to anything they bring to it, excetp Oracles I think it would be boring to deal with an old enemy. Give me something like some type of Hyve relic that needs to be destroyed or something in those lines.
-
The hive operate under a totally different culture and rules to the vex. I don't think we'll see oracles or the like. I'm guessing bungie has an entirely new set of challenges completely separate from any similarities to VoG. I would speculate perhaps, the team splitting in two to travel down two opposite routes which need communication to coordinate a timed event (possibly a door). Or something along those lines.
-
I tell you one thing, Sword of Crota mission was my favorite of any they provided in the lackluster campaign. Wielding it is obviously second to handling the epic Aegis Relic so I can't wait to see how they beef it up or substitute another type of Relic for this raid.
-
WIZARDS WIZARDS EVERYWHERE!!!!
-
To get the 7th chest to spawn in the new raid you have to sit on your thumb until you're an entire knuckle deep in your asshole. Then you can pick up some extra ascendant materials

Preach

Edited by Bee Error: 11/20/2014 7:00:31 PMA simple but challenging objective for the raid would be nice this time. No, certain strategy but to fend off masses of enemies, it would be awesome.
-
Buffed wizards in groups with lots of poison cloud. Gonna be a nightmare.
-
Should not be oracles unless we are facing VEX, and we are not in the new raid.
-
I think there will massive waves of thralls to be killed by someone wielding the sword of crota, I like the idea of running from a monster on sparrows, or something like that to take the place of a jump \ sneak quest...
-
I think the Sword of Crota will be there with a function similar to the relic, considering it already has attacks and a supercharge mapped out, hard to believe they did that for one mission
-
Instead of loot drops, you'll receive special raid engrams that have to get decoded by the cryptarch. Drop rate follows 50% ascendent materials 25% Raid Shader (poop brown) 15% Legendary ship (also poop brown) 7% Random Blue item 3% Raid Armor or Weapons
-
Spawn swarms of yellow bar wizards with 2 over shields to different elements and the elements run on RNG so that there is no set way to defeat the group quickly.
-
I heard some crazy rumor about having to outrun a Hive Ogre on your Sparrow...
-
Definitely more engaging tasks like the disappearing platforms. Get some good laughs out of those.
