Buff the Universal Remote!!!
I just got this shotgun from the Nightfall, but I've already seen it in action and I know it's a piece of junk. Most people talk about Bad Juju and Thorn, but I think this one has them beat it terms of uselessness.
Here's what could be done to make it not suck:
[b]1. Change from Primary slot to Special slot.[/b] What is the point of having a shotgun in the Primary slot? Unless you want to have 2 shotguns or a shotgun and a sniper rifle at the same time... something I've never found to be practical.
[b]2. Add Arc Damage.[/b] After changing it to the Special slot, this gun is going to need a special damage type. Arc damage would be best, as Legendary and Exotic weapons with Arc damage are hard to come by outside of the Raid. It also fits the theme of the weapon; a custom, junky-looking shotgun that was probably cobbled together by some tech junkie.
[b]3. Add Field Scout perk.[/b] An essential for any shotgun or sniper rifle. This perk makes special weapons much more reliable; you get 7 round per clip and 21 in reserve, and you receive more ammo from Special Ammo pickups, so you can use it much more often.
[b]4. Increase reload speed.[/b] Self-explanatory. I hate weapons with such painfully slow reload speed. Give it normal reload speed.
[b]5. Increase Range Bonus. [/b]This shotgun is supposed to have longer range than the average shotgun when aiming-down-sights; but I've heard the range increase is barely noticeable. Fix this.

The gun is a great PVP weapon and needs to be left alone. Read the description of the gun and then your eyes shall be opened

6 RepliesI got universal remote and upgraded it to the "universal remote" perk and it was quite disappointing. This gun was supposed to be a shotgun with rifle range, but to me it's just maybe slightly longer range than a normal shotgun. Does anyone else (who maybe can consistently land those scoped head shots from afar) used this gun to kill someone from significantly larger range than that of any other shotgun?

I've read another discussion about what the shotty should be. The "universal remote" attachment when zooming in, it should shoot slugs. Increasing range and damage. However when shooting from the hip, it'll be just normal shotgun range. I've read that from another player, kkbubbles's idea. I thought it would be great to have that.

People need to stop crying just because a few weapons aren't super omega epic. You want a Shotgun with scout or sniper range? Are you insane? Look at what happened to the Vex Mythlocast. A horribly small amount of people had it and it got nerfed to be one of the most useless weapons in the game because of whiners like you. If Universal Remote were to get any sort of buff, it would be bitched about until they nerfed it to the point that it was crappier than it's original form. Nothing is wrong with it. Learn to use it. Problem solved

Doesn't need it since it's getting double damage in PVE next patch anyway. As for pvp it's a shotgun, doesn't need a buff.

They should make it do what it's supposed to do. It's a shotgun, nothing about it makes it special at all. Range of a scout rifle lmfao, dumbest weapon in the game.

I Def don't want it to change to the special slot because that's one of the things that makes it unique along with the vex. I do; however, agree with the elemental effect being added. Field scout and increased reload speed would be nice too. But the buff it really needs is the range since that is sposed to be it's claim to fame. It's range is barely more than invective, which has a much higher fire rate causing it to almost always beat out the universal remote (unless the ur hits the head completely). Overall, double the range or so and either increase reload speed and/or increase clip size, and maybe up the fire rate slightly. That would make me happy and earn it's slot as my primary much more often.
