Plasma Swords Change

Has anyone else noticed that in the E3 2003 Campaign Halo 2 trailer, at the end when the Elites crash down near Master Chief, the Elites have to activate their Plasma Swords. Yet in the Halo 2 Multi-Player trailer at E3 2004, the Plasma Swords are on at all times, and just have to be picked up. Has Bungie decided to make Plasma Swords stay on and not have to be activated? Or is the Campaign Plasma Sword and the Multi-Player Plasma Sword different? SF

I think they stay on so that you can actually see the sword and pick it up.

  • Considering, unignited, it would be a steel stick about six pixels in size.... You'd have better luck looking for a black man in a -blam!- convention. (and if he was there... I hope he'd be kicking some serious buttocks. Racism should be abolished.)

  • I think they should stay on so you can see them, atleast in multiplayer. But i think when you pick it up, just as a cool effect, everytime you pull it out or put it away it turns off. Just a neat little effect on the side.

  • Ummm multiplayer is different then single player just to let you know. They had to turn done the graphics or whatever to make it play better. So maybe it being activated isnt needed and i dont fell like spenindg and hour looking for a plasma sword.

  • Well, yeah. But the little "hold X to pick up Plasma Sword" whenever you go over one, and I would be able to see a little black stick on the ground. I mean look at the Pistol in Halo. It was small, but people could see it. I don't think it'd have to be on to see it. SF EDIT: I know Multi-Player is different. But Halo 1 didn't really sacrifice anything for Mutli-Player. It was on the ground and turned on, then when he picked it up, he just kinda... Um... Did this cool shaking thing with it and it made a cool noise. He didn't turn it on.

  • the reason they shouldnt be on all the time is for one great reason... when invis people can see you with it on.. just like you could see the elites carrying it while invis..

  • Well, You must be blind if you cannot see that he does have to turn it on. It only ' appears ' to be on so you do not need to spend 3 years looking for it. That's all. This might not make sense but its the truth.

  • I just hate it when MP stuff looks kinda thrown together. I'm not saying that Halo 2 Mutli-Player is thrown together, no, I just want the Plasma Sword to just as high quality work as the rest of multi-player. SF
