Let's get one thing out of the way before we get started: I love this game. I know a lot of people are criticizing it, so many that I think I'm the weird one, but I haven't had so much fun with a console game since Halo 3. Thank you. However, Bungie, for your future endeavors, I propose five main things that would make the series much more enjoyable in my opinion, in no particular order. 1. Local Split-Screen - Online co-op is cool and all, but experiencing the Destiny story with someone right beside you would be a much more personal and enjoyable experience. I liked playing Halo's campaign with a friend beside me on the couch much more than online. I'm not asking for four player split-screen, although that would be cool, but as technology advances, it should be much easier to implement this element while maintaining the rest of the game. 2. Less Generic Storyline - This is probably the center of the game's criticism, and something most people don't like. I don't mind it, but I feel like most fans would enjoy a slightly less open-ended storyline in the future games. Right now, although this might have been the point, the game feels like an awkward transition between open-world and linear. 3. More Creative Races - This one is a personal pet peeve of mine. The Awoken seem like ghost humans, and the Exo feel like robots, not actual biologically diverse races. Although this once again might have been intended, I feel like the future races introduced should be equally as different from humans as the enemy races are (with the exception of the Vex; they're robot-things too I guess.) 4. More Classes - The current classes are very cool, but adding even more classes [and finding a way to balance them; without balance, I would rather not have them in the game at all] would be a very neat thing to add to the next Destiny game. This would give players an incentive to come back, as something very new has been introduced. 5. MOAR PLANETS - This one, above all else, I want the most. When I play games, the environment is usually the least of my concerns, but the ability to explore the rich worlds Bungie has created is my favorite part of Destiny. Adding more planets to explore, specifically the gas giants (yes, they are gas giants, but maybe somehow the Traveler's terraforming powers made their tiny rocky cores habitable..?) would be an amazing feature, and would make me really want the next game. And, you know, a boss battle in the Red Storm of Jupiter would be pretty fly. What do you guys think? What are the things you want in the next Destiny game the most? Let me know in the comments below.
