Feedback & Suggestions: Clans that work like Factions + more

Hopefully what I’ve written below makes sense, it's a genuine attempt offer balanced feedback and suggestions. These come in no particular order. Increased Vault space: I'm trying to keep hold of kit for all three of my characters which could prove useful. I can see space becoming an issue in all sections of the vault. Currency sharing: Across all three character slots the only currency shared is Glimmer, there may be very good reasons, other than throttling progression, which I can’t think of but why aren't Vanguard Marks and Crucible Marks shared. You can share the kit you buy with them but not the marks. If the crucible wasn't a levelled playing field and the amount you can earn in a week not limited I could understand it but ultimately I think its the way it is now to prolong the experience beyond the games available content. Unequip Weapons & Armour: I’m playing all three classes but using the same weapons across all three. I’m having to keep low level ‘placeholder’ weapons because I can’t unequip. Classes and Subclasses: More please, its just another way to add variety and keep people playing. There should also be bigger advantages and disadvantages to your choices of class and subclass. Kit/Class diversity: Weapons and armour have perks but at the moment I can see few noticeable benefits between the different bits of kit I've collected. The combination between classes, sub-classes and kit should be exploited more to provide more experimentation in play style and strategies. Also is there some way Weapons and Armour could be made more useful beyond there intended level (not just for breaking down into parts). For example a unique perk appearing on an Uncommon/Rare weapon which when combined with a certain class/subclass combo could make it viable for certain game modes, giving the player more potential reward from drops and something more to think about. Kit Variety: Its obvious lots of works has gone into the kit aesthetics, I can imagine a lot of time sunk into the artwork at least. Which has kind of made a rod for your own back because there really should be more variety here, much more. Think Borderlands 2 as a high aspiration for a level of kit variety and try and aim as near to that as you can. I can appreciate that the artwork quality in Destiny is considerably better than Borderlands and giving Destiny the same amount of weapon diversity would mean lots of artwork but the RPG elements of the game would really benefit from more variety. Grimoire: This is a good idea that should be exploited more. Firstly there could be an in game way to view Grimoire progress, in some ways these could be treated like bounties, for example the more challenging Grimoire offering better rewards like actual XP (instead of boost), exclusive banners or shaders. Bounties: Another great idea to expand on! It would be nice to see more multiple objective bounties like the exotic bounties, with more varied rewards for completion. Bounties are one of the keys to longevity in my opinion, and could also be a way to expand on the story of the Destiny universe. Even if in the short term bounties only utilised the existing game areas and modes, there's load of scope to play with the objectives, narrative, rewards and challenge here. Again much more variety would be great! Story: A much discussed topic already and pretty much the weakest point of the game. I think every aspect needs major improvement, the traveller, factions, characters, motivations. Doing this through Grimoire is acceptable to a certain extent but much more is needed in-game to engage the player with the Destiny world. For me the story is absolutely key to maintaining interest over the 10 year plan you’re aiming for and to be blunt the in game exposition in the first installment of Destiny is nothing sort of terrible! Content: Another hotly discussed topic. My concern around content, as mentioned, is around the story but also around variety. 'Grinding' is a valid mechanic in most MMORPG's but to make it as enjoyable as possible variety is needed. Variety and replay value/reward will make the grinding experience more enjoyable. Leaderboards: Another way to promote replay value, does anything keep players playing more than bragging rights? PvP and PvE Weekly, monthly, overall leaderboards for just about every mode and mechanic in the game. Most kills, most kills with weapon X, most revives. Most strikes, Most boss X kills, most Fallen kills etc etc etc. And as best as possible most of these should be accessible in game. This is a no brainer to me. Rewards for topping leaderboards at certain times wouldn't be a bad thing either. In short Leaderboards should be everywhere! Matchmaking: The RAID is proving most difficult for me to organise amongst friends, to open the RAID up to more players more should be done to organise Raiding parties outside people you know. (see Clans) Clans: Pretty much useless in its current state I think. There are all sorts of examples of good clan implementation in other games you could follow. Clans are another good way to keep people engaged and connect players together for games. Just one thing that popped into my head, could you allow players to make their clan into almost a faction, with the ability to rank up in your clan (as you do in a faction) and contribute XP to an overall Clan/faction score, maybe clan leaderboards, maybe even a way to make your own clan specific class item (mark, bond, cloak) to show your allegiance and once worn your XP goes to your clan (as with factions). Customisation: Shaders & Banners are a start but really this needs some more work at both a cosmetic and a functional level (see Kit/Class diversity & Kit Variety). Customisation enables the player to feel connected to the character they've developed and make it personal to them. Some cosmetic idea's, weapons and ship shaders, clan shaders. Public Events: Brilliant idea and definitely worth developing, other than adding more variety I can’t personally see much wrong with them. Timed Events (eg Iron Banner): Also another great idea, peoples displeasure with the last Iron Banner is well documented, personally I thought it was great. However the idea of these timed events is brilliant. Other than more variety, perhaps differing lengths of them I can’t add much more. More ways to reach the ‘End Game Gear’: As the titles says really. I haven’t played a RAID yet, but other than the difficulties organising one I have no problems with them in principle. For me though there should be other ways to hit 30, which would equate to the same amount of effort (or complexity) as running RAIDS until you got the RAID gear to hit light level 30. More long term… Ships: Fancy loading screens at the moment, in terms of story ship battles would not feel out of place in the Destiny narrative, unlike sparrow racing, in my opinion. Ship combat at this stage would be a nice to have, but with so much to exploit in the game as it is this should come bottom of the list. Beyond Destiny: Getting a bit ahead of myself but in terms of a new Destiny title (Destiny 2) If I am to remain invested in Destiny beyond the current title there would have to be a significant nod towards the progression made and time invested already. I can appreciate that may not mean keeping me light level weapons/armour or characters, but then again with a Crucible which balances out level advantage and a PvE with selectable difficulties I can’t see why not.
