DeeJ: There is a glaring disparity in the 10/03/14 Mailsack

Deej, On the question of "Destiny is so PVP heavy."Why can't the factions be opened up to PVE players?" in the 10-03-2014 Mailsack. Our concern isn't that we cannot gain Faction Rep from the PvE side. Everyone has known for a long time that you could. The isue of why the game is so PvP heavy is: "Why can't we purchase Faction equipment with Vanguard Marks as well as Crucible Marks?" The PvE lovers in Destiny are already gaining a ton of Rep with their chosen Factions (I myself am working on Dead Orbit rank 4), but most of the purely PvE fans cannot stand the Crucible. And that is where the issue resides. A person is forced to play in the Crucible in order to purchase Faction gear. For the people (like myself) who only want to run the PvE side, the competitive matchmaking is a distasteful, not-fun-at-all experience. We just don't like PvP. But in order to represent our Factions by wearing their equipment, we're forced to grind out matches in the Crucible (as my, and many other people's game history shows); which fosters the view that the game is much more focused on the PvP than any other aspect of the game. The Rep gains are easy to understand. The issue is that purely PvE Gamers are being forced into a section of the game that they find distasteful (PvP), in order to buy gear to represent their chosen Faction as they slaughter our enemies on the different planets. If the game is really meant to be equal on both sides of the coin, then make it so that the Faction vendors accept either Vanguard or Crucible Marks. Because that's where the real issue come from. ~Vampire Nox~ Edit = Besides, it's not like the Factions are PvP-centric. We have Patrol missions (a ton of them) for every one of the Factions. If I'm able to earn Rep towards my chosen Faction during Patrols, but those Patrols also award Vanguard Marks; why would those same Factions refuse to accept Vanguard Marks for their equipment as readily as they accept Crucible Marks? This needs to be fixed, Bungie. Having five out of seven Vendors locked behind Crucible Marks, is extremely biased towards the PvP side of the game. In my opinion, your Vendor list by currency should look like this: Vanguard Armory/Mentors: Vanguard Marks. (2 Vendors) Crucible Outfitter and Weapon dealer(?): Crucible Marks. (2 Vendors) Faction Vendors: Vanguard Marks and/or/mix Crucible Marks. (3 Vendors) This makes an even split for each side of the game, and both the PvP and PvE sides of the game have access to equal numbers of vendors. Also, the Marks should mix when visiting the Faction vendors. So as long as yout total Marks (Vanguard and Crucible) adds up to or greater than the cost of the equipment, then you can use Marks out of either category to pay for said equipment. This makes sense because the gear you buy isn't limmited to use only in the Crucible, or only in Patrol/PvE. Since you can use the equipment in both sides of the game, you should be able to buy the equipment with Marks from both sides of the game. Again; thank you for your valuable time, and I hope to see a quick resolution to this glaring issue. ~ Vampire Nox ~
