What're seasonal events?

Let me make this clear from the start, permanent content should come before temporary content. and this classifies as temporary. ALSO, this would come after other aspects of the game have been fixed. Coincidence? Probably, but still this is a great secret thing that was just added (29/10), a few days after this poll was made. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VROdM9z4Qdo With Halloween just around the corner what do you guys think? Would you like to see the tower be given a spooky make over? Special events/ missions against the Hive with new bosses to celebrate the event? And should these sort of events happen during other seasons such as Christmas and such? This could open up a great assortment of limited content that that, unlike Iron Banner and Queens Bounties, would only be available for a brief period of time once a year. This would give players the opportunity to truly get unique gear that would make others wonder where they got it. For example, a Chinese New Year event armour could provide: (people where getting less then please with how the examples for the CNY armour where from Japanese culture {yes I was aware} so it's been changed) Titan - Armour similar to Ceremonial Style armour (Upon research found that Chinese warriors didn't have a set name for them. If someone wanted to provide further details by all means, but this is what it is for now) Hunter - Assassin themed Armour Warlock - Emperor Robes (idea by SS TON3R 420) Edit: so some people are giving logical feedback that not everyone follows Christianity and that it would be impossible to cater for every religion and cultural group. So on that note, what if the world of Destiny where to create its own seasonal holidays? It would be a great opportunity to implement more lore on the people of The Last City. People of all races, religions and cultural backgrounds fled to the Last City. Oppressed by the new enemy that threatened the survival of humanity they banded together to not only create a new world, but a new way of life. They created not holidays for religions, but in memory of their ancestors that sacrificed themselves to create The Last City, to the first Guardians who stood between the new threat and humanity, and holidays to pay honor to the Traveler who sits over over them, protecting them... Just little things like that that make the world feel more engaging would go a long way, thoughts? Edit 2: Here are the great ideas for events. ALL credit goes to hagintora 1. Month of Man - Set at the beginning of each new year, this month celebrates the first exploratory steps mankind made in order to reach the Traveler. 2. Month of the Traveler - This month celebrates the Traveler's arrival on earth, and the early lessons it taught to humanity. 3. Month of Gold - Set in the third month of the year, as a rememberence of the 300 year Golden Age. The people of the Last City remember well the Golden Age of Man, even if all they have left are just stories and legends of what once was. 4. Month of War - This months commemorates the fall of the Golden Age, and the beginning of mankinds war with the Darkness. 5. Month of the Fallen - A rememberence of mankinds first contact with the Fallen. 6. Month of the Hive - A rememberence of mankinds first contact with the Hive. 7. Month of Vexation - A rememberence of mankinds first contact with the Vex. 8. Month of the Cabal - A rememberence of mankinds first contact with the Cabal. 9. Month of the Gaurdians - This month celebrates the rise of the first Guardians. 10. Month of the City - Commemorating the construction of the Last City, and the Traveler's sacrifice to save humanity. 11. Month of Twilight - Commemorating the Battle of Twilight's Gap, and the Guardians that were lost. 12. Nightfall - Set during the darkest days of the year, this month is a reminder that the Darkness is still out there, ready to devour the Light of the unwary, and the unprepared. Edit 3: So it has been spoken (by MalcolmSG, he gets the credit here) that to be able to get the most out of it, the Last City needs to be opened up and experience the memorable Seasonal Events among the people of the city we defend. This would entail seeing holiday decorations and banners populating the streets... and you know what? I agree, but I wanted to take that a step further, so I proposed this:
Imagine, the city opens up and guardians enter, the people of the city can request us to do quests and in return we can get exclusive gear. Yet not everyone will get the same quests or rewards. It would give us a sense of uniqueness that we want, as well as give us a story to our equipment other then "stole my legendary sniper off a level 2 dreg"
Once again, leave constructive feedback on these things to help build a better Destiny. Thanks for so much support and input towards this, if you have time head over and check out a full list of ideas I have compiled with the continuous input of other people: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/70500745/0/0 Interested in an idea on how Prison of Elders could be a 6 man PvE adventure? • I love this/these ideas. What if Destiny actually had seasons? Every season in real time would effect Destiny. Well, at least Earth and Venus. The colors of the plants would change. In summer they would be greener. In spring they would be, somewhat more green. In Autumn they would be red, orange, and yellow, and leaves everywhere. And winter, no leaves, just snow. Destiny's planets need a little something to make them more interesting. There are no bad ideas for Destiny. Actually, there are, but this (yours) is definitely not one of them.
