I don't understand. Why be afraid of death?
Once you're gone, it's over. It seems liberating.
-
It's the fear of the unknown. It's common. It's even more complicated when you don't believe there is an afterlife. If the brain is the only thing that generates consciousness, then their will be nothing afterwards, due to the brain dying. We've become so entwined to our own consciousness and perceptions, that we couldn't imagine a situation without it.
-
I don't think its death, its just the circumstances. No one wants to die a slow and painfull death like starving or drowning or burning.
-
Because once you're dead, there's nothing. No. Afterlife most likely and wouldn't you rather exist than not exist, for heavens sake you won't even be able to think when you're dead because your brain will eventually decay.

Edited by BOBPLAYSXBOX: 11/5/2014 8:28:36 PMI'm not sacred of death. I would just prefer reincarnation than nonexistence.
-
Who else remembers darkness before they saw something? It terrifies me if that's what death is like
-
I think it has more to do with people are generally pussys & don't want it to hurt ;)
-
I'm afraid of unending darkness, being trapped in one's own head until the end of time

Edited by 無い: 11/5/2014 2:38:02 AMThink about it this way, like I do Being dead means we don't exist anymore We didn't exist for the first 4.3 billion years of Earth, so that's the same experience as being dead Technically, we've all been dead before
-
Life is like a school of fish...we're all gonna die.
-
i like living i dont want to stop existing, its that simple
-
Because it tastes like death
-
I'm not scared I wanna die.
-
It's not death it's more of how they die
-
Death shouldn't be scary. Life is a hell in itself. Death is heaven, floating through the void, ready to be reincarnated into a new life and launched into hell again. The void is the only peaceful place. Hell is life, with Ebola Cola, Feminists, Treebola and ISIS zombies.
-
I'm more afraid of an unpleasant transition from life into death, than the eternity of rest.
-
That's because hell is a never-ending unskippable Destiny cutscene.
-
I would be scared of the pain when dying, not the fact that I am dead.
-
My greatest fear is dying at the hands of a coward. My son is only 2, so if I died at this point, he wouldn't really remember me. That would be terrible.
-
I don't fear death, it's just that I'm afraid of leaving loved ones behind. Most people are afraid of death because they don't know what to expect when death comes. That's why people have started religions to form their own theories of why life even exists and what happens after life.
-
I don't fear death, just the method of delivery.
-
I think people just fear the unknown. They dont know for sure what can happen..
-
It's not death people fear, exactly... it's the transition and/or leaving things unfinished and leaving loved ones behind... there's actually a quote about this topic from someone I don't Remember o.o
-
Nobody likes change

Listen to disc 1 of Lewis Black's "Me of Little Faith". In that part he talks about death, the fear of death, and he puts in his opinion about people's views of what death is like. Hopefully it'll put some things into perspective for those who are curious. (:
-
I think they're more scared of how they die
-
Its almost like sleeping, except no dreams. There is no consciousness. Im ok sleeping because im sure i will return in a few hours. You dont get to experience death, only that dying part. Then you're gone. Poof.
