MMORPG player feedback/suggestions

So, to begin with I have been a long time player of MMORPG's and even longer playing RPG's and I have to say this game does so well in so many different areas but maybe that is because I can see the scope of the developer and not a narrow minded vision of what the game is currently that some people can't get past. Yes, the story mode feels incomplete, perplexing and clustered, and I was a little disappointed also with the game having very little explanation of some of it's core elements such as coin, mote and mark collection. I can also see on the forums that many people new to the MMO player base don't grasp the concept or understand reputation grinds and an RNG (Random number generator) type loot system. That being said, I started my MMO life on Guild wars for 2 years before playing 8 years of World of Warcraft and I can see a lot of similarities between WoW and Destiny. I can see why the developers have said they see this game lasting ten years. What a lot of people don't seem to see in this game they paid £50 for is the long term goals of this game. For starters, this game has both PvE and PvP elements and a wide variety of both to play and experiment with. There are 6 classes to master as well as 9 weapon styles to learn so I don't see how some people can say there isn't anything to do or that there is no longevity? Besides the fact you may not want to learn those roles or play another class or use another weapon, the choice is still there and that's what's important and what you have paid for. On top of the fact there is a fully working mobile app to integrate with, as well as updates and new events (Iron Banner etc) added from time to time. I understand you want what you paid for and YOU WANT IT NOW!! But you have to understand that in time the game will pay for itself if you enjoy it as it develops. Yes the DLC will add some extra content etc but there will also be many, MANY things that they will change and update free of charge for the community and new and old players to enjoy. I don't have proof of this, but if you look to the likes of WoW, this is what was done with there, and I can see it working along similar lines with Destiny in future. There is already an empty space next to the sub classes for each class, and this seems to imply further classes being released in the maybe distant future. Dark Matter Warlock? Sword wielding Huntsman? Who knows? But I can certainly see the game developing in this way and in other ways like with different weapon types? Different planets to explore? and possibly even opening up more of the landscape to explore. The invisible walls we see and are contained by now may not always be as limited as they are currently. There needs to be enough demand for content for them to put all the effort into designing and developing new areas and content in the first place, and with the amount of money already piled into the game I can see that happening if the player base stays with it and explores what is currently available. That is my two cents anyway, and here are some suggestions for improvement which I will add to when I have new ideas. 1. Transmogrification It's available in WoW and basically let's you equip max level legendary gear, that could look like common gear when 'mogged. This will truly give us more customisation and we can look like we want to rather than what the stats showing say we should. 2. Looking for group/Raid (LFG/LGR) Looking for other people to strike, raid or crucible etc with isn't easy sometimes, especially if there is a specific thing you want to do or need (Exotic bounties etc) and I understand not all content will be easy using a system generated matchmaking setup, but give us the choice and I can only see good things for us all. 3. Setting a status As above, it is hard to find groups. A simpler and more cost effective way could be to be able to add a status to your current activities. (E.g. 'Farming ore' or 'Need more for exotic/vanguard or crucible bounties') This will improve the community aspect of the game and help people to play as fire teams as the game seems to prefer in some cases. 4. City Scholar Sometimes I don't want to look at my phone to find out in game things. This NPC could explain loot systems, mote, strange coin and vanguard/crucible mark collection to new players. As well as any up and coming changes or patch notes etc. 5. The ability to skip videos. I'm not saying remove them entirely, but at least give us the option to when it's not a loading screen or whatever. I hope this #Feedback is helpful and can in some ways be implemented. As for anybody else, please feel free to add your opinions and up votes. Thanks, Flu

  • I just commented on a post just like this. I agree with Otaku. If I knew I was going to be guinea pig for a on going beta? I would not have bought this game. I bought the season pass up front. Damn. Explain why they failed on the story? This game has so many stories to be told. Our classes, our enemies, our history, the factions. That's a complete failure. You can't fix it. Your suggestions are all on the spot. The sad thing? They have been posted over and over again. Right here, since the beta. I have read them and commented on them. Deej has made vague comments on one or two of them. The hostility you see is a direct result of Bungie's lack of PR. Lack of Bungie's feedback to the community. You played MMO. I only played one, my first. I thought it was another console RPG. It was FF14 ARR. I did not know it was a MMO till I picked it up. Holy crap! It was amazing, and I was on my PS3. I upgraded to the 4. FF spoiled, or makes my judgment bias. What I saw and did in that game? Destiny did not. The stories, every class, guild, enemy. The tools, matchmaking, party finder, your own group lists. Then the communication, text. Thats all. Text. I can communicate with one or one hundred. This was from day one. It took me some time to figure it all out. I did. Someone said this before I picked up on it. The original FF14 failed. It was on line for just over two years. I did not play that one. I had to look it up. Why did it fail? The producer ( Yoshida ) said this. I am not quoting. We spent to much tech ( power? ) on our graphics. It limited the amount of players you could see on screen. ( they had 20, we have 16 ) None of there Dev's had worked on a MMO. They had the mind set that they could fix anything in the game through patches. That sounds like what we are experiencing. That's just my opinion. I give praise where it's due. The mechanics and graphics are great. That's it. I don't waste money. I do have fun. Flawed fun. My clan and I have had good times. One more thing. When I started FF14. I had no friends who gamed. Right now I have well over one hundred friends. Divided up among my FC ( clan ), friends list, and LS ( a linkshell, it's a group of like minded players ) like having a list of players that just do PVP. You could text to the whole list, or one of them. I wish we could communicate more in this game. I hope they make this game work. I wish they had been up front with what they planed. Who builds a game that needs parties to complete it. With no way of looking for the parties in the game? Anyway, Good post. Good luck. If you see me in the game? Shoot me.
