To Mr. Harold Ryan

MAJOR UPDATE: Deej responded to me calling his attention to this thread in another thread. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/76633207/0/0 It will probably get buried rather quickly because every time he posts, 1000 replies follow. Deej
You weren't ignored. I read that. The point that Harold was making was that, when someone plays a game for 100 hours, you learn a lot. We've obviously created something you want to play. It's very obvious that you want to talk to us about how it can be better. When we stay focused on game feedback, good things can happen.
EDIT: Please read the article I linked to before posting. I have been accused of taking his statement out of context, which I do not feel I did at all, and I want to make sure that no one feels like I mislead them.
Harold Ryan: It's so broad. When I read a lot of the feedback, and I see it's after playing for 100 hours, it's hard not to couch that in, well if you played the game for 100 hours... What other game do you play for 100 hours, right?
This is not grounds for dismissing our feedback like you suggest. I'm calling you out. What games do we play for more than 100 hours? Since you don't seem to know of any, please allow me and my fellow gamers to educate you. Fellow Bungie.net users, please feel free to add to this list and/or tweet away @Bungie or @Destiny your ideas about how many other games you can put more than 100 hours into. I'll start. • I keep my 360 just to play BF3 as I have over 1000 hours invested in it. I still enjoy it with my friends. They have now left destiny and gone back to BF as destiny has limited replay ability.

  • I'll throw Tiny Tank (PS1) into the mix. Easily my most favorite game of all time. Gex Series also. The 90's were a good time.

  • So many games there that blow Destiny away. I'd add Legacy of Kain series though - I still dust of my old PS2 from time to time just to play that game.

  • I saw "Myself" and hope it's actually a game... But I have a feeling it doesn't refer to one, though a joystick may be involved... Lol

  • lol sooooo what they're saying is... because we've spent soooooo many hours on Destiny, we love it? WRONG. Your game here, is the slowest friggin grind fest ever, so players pretty much have to put in a shit-ton of time or they don't get jack-squat. Bungie, your logic is severely flawed. And whoever added Everquest to the list, thank you, you are awesome!

  • M.A.G. (Over 1000 hours) DUST 514 * and only a simpleton would attempt to equate "hours played" as an indication of the quality of Destiny or the level of enjoyment had while playing it. Simple question folks: When looking at Vanilla Destiny plus the first two DLC's.... -Does it have the content you would expect for an $89.99 game?

    • Unfortunately for Bungie, destiny is a game like FarmVille in the mechanics. You slowly grind away to get better things, but with no set or guaranteed reward

      • Number 1 lesson for Bungie to take away from this post. 100+ hours in a game isn't really a big deal. Any gamer worth his weight in piss, oh I mean Code Red Mountain Dew, has put that much time in on at least half a dozen games. I put in around 10 - 15 hours to decide if I like a game. It's a very bad AAA game if I don't finish it at least once on easy. Yes, sometimes I play on easy.

      • I don't know if the Deej update to this post is recent. But reading Deej's comment on what Harold said it's clearly spin doctoring. Not even creative spin doctoring.

      • Maybe its because I'm "casual" but I started playing this game with my friends and kind of look at it like a left 4 dead or a payday type game...I'm having fun with that mindset at least

        • Dark Souls 1 & 2. This response from Bungie is ridiculous and a cop-out. The mechanics are fun but the level design is repetitive, the level progression is tedious and the storyline is pathetic... They need to just admit they produced a steaming pile of horseshit and release dlc for free, or at least until the games story feels half way coherent. I want to decrypt incoherent engrams not the -blam!-ing storyline!

          • 100 hours in Actraiser? I beat that game with nothing left to do in about 10-20 hours if I recall. Along with a lot of the other games on that list. Yes the RPGs can be huge time sinks and I've got literally a year of my life in WoW, so I get that part. I'm pretty sure that he wasn't taking into consideration your 57th play-through or playing multiplayer for 3-6 months. I mean, I've probably sunk 50+ hours into Contra or Street Fighter, but I don't feel like those should be on a list like this (I played those games repeatedly out of teen boredom). The only thing that's keeping destiny going is the grind, for me. There's definitely a lack of side content, I've stopped working on my alts for now, since I'm back in the new WoW expac, but I'm whittling away at one toon. I do look forward to seeing where they go with Destiny. I don't know why they missed the mark at launch, but I think they'll correct things.
