I remember the days when you bought a game full price it was a full game , and when an expansion was released it actually added tremendously to the amount of content of the original game.
yes , we play Destiny , yes we love it , but lets face it ... it is -blam!-ing lacking in all major departments, it's just the looting that's keeping it alive this far , and even that is because of the weird RNG system in place.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd the expansion was released a year or more later. So yeah, when the expansions are being released 3 months apart, lower your expectations a bit. Modern society allows developers to release content at a much faster pace, which means it needs to be smaller in size. In the older days, developers couldn't release new content over the internet, and needed a new retail release, so launching with anything LESS than an entirely expanded and refreshed game for a reasonable price tag would not be profitable and sustainable.
