On the subject of paying 20 for content
You do realize that mmos are expensive as -blam!- to run right? Go find another one that isn't subscription based or that has a cash store. Go ahead, I'll wait. If anything paying 20 a raid is the cheapest option out there. Take wow for instance, it's considered to best mmo out there for good reason and costs 15 a month to play. It has a major patch every 3 months AT BEST so that would put it at paying 45 bucks for every raid. And their community understands and doesn't gripe like little bitches. All of you people who are complaining about this are spoiled and entitled and don't understand what it takes to keep a game of this scope running.

since this game is not an mmo you cant compare it to mmo's. the best comparison to this game is borderlands.

For some reason that's what Europe and UK are expected to pay which will likely result in very few sales and therefore harm the online experience for those who intend purchasing it in US as an online only game like this needs plenty of active gamers.

Destiny is the first first person shooter ive experienced with this sort of gameplay, set up like an rpg because even in the lobby screen i feel like im in the game. #worth my money

If I went to the movies with my friend I'd pay around $15-20 for no more than 2.5 hours of entertainment. Edit: plus, I'm still enjoying Destny, and that $20 DLC will increase my enjoyment tremendously.

Pretty much nonexistent at this point in WoW's life cycle (NOTHING like it used to be thanks to BG's). I played wow for 6 years. Bought the original game for $40, then I bought BC for $40, $40 for wrath, $40 for Cata, $40 for MOP....I probably took about a year off in that time. So 15 bucks a month for 5 years. 5x12 - 60 I bought a gaming computer for $700 bucks. Yep, just to play WoW, that was the only reason I got it. Then I got a Razer headset, nostromo, and keyboard all for probably about $250 Then I transferred characters to different servers, faction change, race changes. I don't even know how many times I did this, but at $30 bucks per change...whew...probably 7 or 8 times...I'll just go with 7 to be modest. $30x7 - $210 60x15 - $900 - in subscription fees alone (yes, just to be allowed to log in to play my character) $200 - for the game discs alone $700 - for gaming computer $250 - Razer stuff $210 - Race changes, server transfers, faction changes (over a 6 year period) $2,260.... I'm really glad I don't play anymore.

Amen ! Well said ! These stupid ass people have no idea what it takes to keep a game of this magnitude running ! People who complain over $20 bucks are the ones that stand in line for hours and pay $250 plus for sneakers and are happy to do it ! Nuff said

It's worth it, let's say you go watch a movie at the theatre it's $10-13 to get in then another $10for popcorn and junk... For an hour whether it was good or not. I've spent $100 on destiny and have probably clocked a day or two or more of play, it's like 50cents an hour of enjoyment and soon less the more I play... If you find $20 expensive maybe console gaming isn't right for you and you shouldn't be complaining on the forums. If you play the game daily or weekly and you complain about it, go play another game. P. S to all the complainers I hope your kids get hooked on drugs!

4 Replies20 buck is high and unreasonable to pay for destiny, its broken. 15 for WoW was worth it. World pvp, professions , auction houses. Raids and Pvp. Destiny i wont pay a dime anymore.

You do realise the server costs have been covered with the revenue generated from the release? Do the math if you dont believe me. Im going to say defiance to an mmo with no subscription!(not a great game but still a mmo on console, lost of content and updates, it only went ftp a cpl of months ago) I think you dont know what you are on about, calling people entitled as an insult lol, everyone as a consumer is entitled to what was promised prior to launch and if that changed so drastically then it should have been held back so people didnt buy on the basis of what was marketed before....but that would have made them less money!

it's way better than playing for micro transactions and spending 99Cents for every sparrow skin in the game and to access the new strikes ect.

4 RepliesAgree but Xbox players are being ripped off a little bit because they have to wait about a year before they have access to all the content they paid for which really is messed up. No other game has released DLC or even a game with locked content that is only accessible a year later on another console. They just sell the content that is exclusive at a different time so they get everything they pay for right when they pay it. This is something that needs to be addressed as other games might do the same thing where either console will have to wait months to get all the content someone already paid for.

Can't lie, it would be either this, or a cash shop in which folks would definitely end up dishing out a helluva lot more, paying for the game about 100x over, and not even think about it

I agree with you and it is all worth it. However I would say that the initial content isn't anywhere near the standard/amount/variety of that which WoW provided on any level.
