• Sounds like utter bullshit, if that was the issue, why is the content in the digital version which was completely downloaded

    • reading this explanation actually makes me more angry. Its so transparently just grasping damage control. The full game is downloadable. Much of their user base chose to purchase it that way. If download speed and size were such a concern, why sell the game that way? Why have constant connection as a requirement for play? Silence from Bungie was better than such an obvious, ham fisted a lie.

Oh and how well does that "explanation" hold up when you consider that you can purchase and download the game as is already? If that's their reasoning behind adding dlc to disc then "our" Internet connections shouldn't be good enough to allow for digital releases at all. You know since they're so concerned about our ability to dl conrent. Anyone buying this tripe is a fool, and that guy is a complete POS.

      • They are worried about download speeds in a game that requires an internet connection? Ok then.

        • Thus is very telling of Bungie and the president himself. He left placeholder content on disc because he expected EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU to buy the DLC. If that type of condescending attitude doesn't offend you, then I don't know what will.

          • Lmao! They said that they were worried about our internet connections!? Really!? Then why do we need to logged into PSN or Xbox Live to play? What a load of crock.

          • So the maps are massive. Not a surprise; I've been saying that maps are probably the single largest files in games like this. But when the content was finished far enough ahead of the game's release to be included on the disc, to the point where the only thing blocking entry to those maps was a wall that can be turned off later much in the same way that some doors only open up on certain missions or strikes, then we aren't getting downloads. It's all disc-locked content. Perhaps Bungie didn't release the game on PC because of how much simpler it is to datamine the crap out of every PC release, and the fact that no actual downloads are planned would have cost Bungie and Activision so much in the public eye that the chances of a sequel would have vanished in minutes. And in regards to anyone saying the map doesn't matter, think about how much of VoG is dependent on terrain. Boos fights weren't superimposed on a map, or vice versa. The two were obviously developed simultaneously. In fact, most of the game feels that way. To think that either one was developed in a vacuum and the either the map or enemies were worked around the other is beyond foolish. Bungie lied. Interestingly enough, they don't have a corporate ethics officer. Coincidence?

Let me clear about this. If I purchase a game, any game, and a few months down the line the developers of said game create additional content for the game, I will gladly give them more money for the additional content that they worked their butts off to give us. Now, if I buy a game and the developers lock off certain areas so that those areas can be unlocked at a later date for an additional charge, then no, you do not deserve more of my money because you did not put in extra work to deserve more money from me. The fact that Bungie is being so up front about this now, just shows how clueless they are and this just makes them look even worse. On-Disc DLC is never OK, unless it's free and the expansions are of course not free. There is no reasoning that makes it OK for Bungie to have done this.

                • Lol wow this isn't a joke? This was a real statement? Someone already brought up the best response.... If they are so worried about our internet connection for downloading content why is the game online only?

                • Total crap, man. People had been downloading over 2gb of data over their home internet for new cod maps for years. Saying they included those areas because they worry about their internet connections is just pure bs. If they included all those areas just so we don't have to download them proves that they are indeed finished. They control the spawn of the enemies on their side, it's like flipping a switch for them. How anyone with half a brain honestly believe any of this?

                  • For me this speaks volumes. "These kids are stupid. Tell em this.." Bungie really has no idea who's playing or how we feel. And they don't give a shite. That too.

Poor excuse. Similar games are available to download in full from the console. Killzone Shadowfall install size: 40GB Battlefield 4 install size: 34GB Halo MCC install size: 65GB Destiny install size: 20GB Bungie, please don't give us the load of bull about people's internet connection. Clearly that's not the reason.

                    • All I could do is laugh when I read that. I'll leave it at that. As for buying any dlc I'm probably going to pass. Don't get me wrong I do like the game but I don't like it enough to spend anymore money on it. Besides as soon as Planet Side 2 comes out that will be taking up a majority of my gaming time.
