I posted ages ago when the DLC was supposedly leaked and what a complete joke it was! Most of the fan-boys went mental to defend the practice of DLC with its "just content markers" or "there is more content" or "I'm a broke ass/ self entitled whiner" lol. now we have details on the content its even less than originally thought... 1. $20/£19.99 Standalone $34.99/£34.99 Season Pass 2. Light Cap: Lvl 32 3. New Armor and Weapons 4. 5 New Bounty Slots 5. new character Eris in story mode, with 3 new missions 6. New Strike: The Will of Crota 7. New Raid: Crota's End 8. New PvP Maps: Pantheon, Skyshock, The Cauldron 9*. Exclusive Strike for Playstation: The Undying Mind Out December 9, 2014 Personally this is joke and complete rip off I want new planets with content and space battles, new gameplay ideas etc. I have seen so many good ideas on the forums yet they release this garbage! Edit 1- I don't care about other games, my point is DLC in general is a rip off and only encourages publishers to release half finished games and shoddy DLC! Edit 2 - Perspective... you brought Destiny for likely £40 probably more. You got 20+ story missions, 4/5 strikes, raid and all the rest. Your gonna pay half that for 3 story's 1 raid 1 strike and rest.... COME ON WAKE UP Edit 3 - WOW so much hate! As consumers you should expect more, defending DLC seriously ? "You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it" Edit 4 - I'm from the UK so for our American friends £20 = $32, £35 = $56. To be more clear as some people are confused in America you can buy both DLC packs for $35 which is about £22. in the UK we would effectively be paying $56 for the same content Edit 5 - Loads of response and great feedback and only a few idiots posting :) as it stands - Yes is winning by about 100 votes which is surprising as the general consensus from the comments is more in favour of no and disappointment, however UK gamers are clearly far more pissed at the price and rightly so. - Huge amount of people already purchased the DLC happy at 450 votes with 230 people unhappy they already bought DLC. - Also 177 people sat on the fence undecided Edit 6 - Great response well over 3k votes! as it stands on 31st at 10 am in order of the poll.. Y=795 N=572 Und=383 DontC=105 (lol why vote then) have SP happy = 1010! have SP Angry = 469 Edit 7 - IMO the content is disgraceful for the price. I think the game lacks content already and is highly repetitive for no good reason. Alot of people justify the cost by the time spent on the game, to me its irrelevant its quality not quantity. Yes you spent 100 hours in game but half of that was doing the same stuff over and over and over etc. lots of people justify the price by comparing to other costs cinema/food etc again i don't agree its comparable for example i could buy a music album and listen to that for the next 40 years! DLC is way for publishers to milk money from consumers and its unsettling how many people actually don't care and worse even defend the practice! Only way to change this is to vote with your wallet! If consumers didn't buy DLC publishers would hit the panic button and actually think twice before they release games and DLC that would actually be worth a purchase. For the price of £35 i can buy another game and will do so.

  • Being British, we get screwed with how much more we have to pay for content that seems minimal, I don't have enough friends on PSN to play the raids and that's the only thing that justifies Destiny as a game.

  • The dlc is overpriced. I'm not sure how anyone can refute this. Compared to other dlc in terms of content it should be priced at around the 9.99 range, not 5.00 more than any bethesda dlc and certainly not 5.00 more than the dlc for The Last of Us.

  • They got until first DLC release to lower the UK price or this game and series is dead to me. Nobody on PSN does a $1 = £1 ratio for any DLC. $20 US games are usually £15 or so.

  • I went with no. I’ll give a few reasons but before I do I’ll just preface this with I love the game, I think it’s good value for money and don’t think it really lacked anything in it’s original form. 1) The content being released is not worth $20. Most of us will have bought the base game for around $60, this content release holds less than 1/6th of what the original game held and should be priced accordingly, there are no new multiplayer modes, new categories of weapons, new worlds etc… We got all these for $60, why do we now have to pay more for less. It just feels like they are trying to exploit the fact that I enjoy the game to get at my money. GW is the perfect example of a game that is always online and didn’t require a subscription, but when they released expansions they were of equal value to the original game. 2) In the UK the pound is a lot stronger than the dollar, we are used to paying more than the US because of this. But the only reason that $20=£20 in any reality is because they are looking to exploit the Uk consumer. There is no other reason, no taxes, or import costs, no manufacturing levies, they are just looking to rip us off. So whilst the US consumer is paying $20 (and as I said before I don’t believe what they are providing is worth that) we are paying $32. 3) Lastly the Xbox thing. This is not like other exclusive agreements, as a PlayStation owner I have never bought DLC that contained less than the Xbox version for the same price. I have obviously waited a little but never had to pay up front and wait a year for parity. This is looking to exploit Xbox owners. I can afford it fairly easily, but I refuse to be exploited over something I enjoy. I implore others to do the same, but understand that they want to play so won’t begrudge them the choice.

  • All the reasons for this business strategy to be unjustifiable on pretty much every reasonable level have already been covered in this forum, so in short, the price of the dlc is a joke, Bungie's attitude to non-dlc purchasers (event lockout) takes the piss, so instead of buying any dlc I'm getting off this ride permanently...

I myself bought the Season pass an Im really really really DISAPOINTED in the New DLC Content.. Its not that I didnt Like the New Content its the fact I only got 3 Missions an 2 strikes. I was hoping for Since i payed all that money id get alot more Content then what they gave us. What I EXPECTED was atleast 3-4 new missions per Planet an a Strike per Planet. That would have been ideal for 20 dollars or the 120 i payed. Soooo Disappointed i already beat everything in an Hour an prolly not going to play agian till the next DLC. Might play the raid once in a while considering u can only play it twice a week other then that ur just helping other people complete it. Im just gonna head back to Final Fantasy 14 since they have an Unbelieveable amount of Content an keep adding all the time.....

  • I already have a season pass, but I'm "angry". (more like disappointed) 3 story missions? 3? Three? You could only muster THREE story missions, Bungie? Really? whatever. Maybe you spent the time on giving us a handful of strikes! what? one strike? Two if you're part of the master race? Two strikes? I've been playing the same 6 strikes since launch, and those got boring and repetitive after two or so weeks. You think two strikes are going to make even a ripple in that pool of repetition? let alone one for the XBros out there? And one raid. This I am fine with, because .. honestly, I didn't expect more than one, as it is more or less the centerpiece. But for $20, you expect us to be satisfied with 3 missions (LAUGHABLE!) two strikes, and one raid? with a smattering of new trinkets? Oh wait, 3 PvP maps, which in this game, equate to 3 new backdrops to your mutually assured destruction with all the one-shot killers in this game. (PvP is nearly abysmal in Destiny, focus on PvE, or balance PvP first (AND SEPARATELY, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD), at least) The industry has become so used to gouging us end users, it's pathetic. Content like this 10 years ago would run for roughly $10. I don't know who started the whole $20 per DLC thing, but Skyrim made it work. You know why? because skyrim's DLC's were MASSIVE! HOURS AND HOURS of content, Even then.. I wasn't willing to take the dive. But Destiny? I took the dive, for hopes of actual EXPANSIONS. What do we get? the content equivalent of a mini DLC pack for any other game. An expansion should be a fully-fleshed out storyline, complete with new characters, a deep, rich new story, and THEN content. lots of it. Look at World of Warcraft. An expansion in that game is almost a stand-alone game in and of its self. This is a pure money grab by Activision/Bungie, and it really makes me sick that the industry has become so money hungry, and blinded by greed that they feel absolutely no remorse for gouging their (in a lot of cases) Loyal customers, simply because they will pay.

      • I could not agree more. To charge 20 dollars and 20 pounds for the same content is wrong. The game is boring with repetitive strikes and bounties and new dlc will not change that. Plus, they made first week a punishment to all of those who did not buy dlc by making weekly and nightfall new content. Bungie is using mobile phone games strategy. I will not be surprised ifsoon there will appear a option to buy best armour, weapons gear and materials for real money. Cheep Bungie...very cheep

        • So CoD puts out a season pass for the same price and thats alright? Let see, CoD add-ons - a few multiplayer maps, 1 or 2 new guns but zero story/campaign missions and yet no-one complains... Hmmm..

          • I have played over 150 hours of destiny. I have got my money's worth. I am enjoying the new missions, the new strike and the new weapons. I played only the first part of the new raid and I was having a blast. Unfortunately I was carrying my team a bit so we never managed to progress that far but it was enjoyable none the less.

          • i played well over 200 hours so i think i got my 60$ back. dlc will give me strikes, new raid, new story missions, full gear sets for all my characters and new exotic weapons. and sparrows. also new npc is coming with new bounties. i think it's gonna provide me with more than 60 hours of playtime, considering i gotta get what i want and also level stuff up. all that and still great game mechanics and gun play that hooks me up. why not? i spend more money on sushi or pizza nights.

              • I'm torn because I'm not seeing the value. Comparing this expansion to similar games, lets take Guild Wars for example who make's most of their continued money from expansions. The expansions are $40-50, thus this expansion should contain about %50 of the content a typical game expansion would. A typical expansion adds several new zones, dungeons, skills, weapons, and large story. We got the weapons, armor, and skills, but no new zones, and very little story. It's honestly more similar to some $5 upgrade pack you would see in Battlefield. The bigger question is, why should I spend $20 for this?

              • The game has already been a huge let down, but Bungie wants me to pay half as much as I did for the initial game, for three more awful, repetitive, totally un-immersing, boring missions? I don't think so. Bungie wants me to pay £20 compared to $20 in the U.S. and for less content (although the amount is already pitifully small) than a Playstation owner? Sorry but that's just not going to happen, i'm utterly disgusted by this. It shows a complete lack of consideration for their customers. The UK price extortion truly is the very worst part of it - At $20 converted to UK currency using current conversion rates I might have been able to consider purchasing it, but that on top of all the other negative points? It's just irreversible, I've lost any faith in Bungie, which after the Halo games, is a pretty huge amount of faith to lose. $20 for U.S. and £20 for uk = "-blam!- you, Uk. We don't give a shit if you buy our content or not, we just want your money because some of you are stupid enough to give it to us"

Just because people disagree with you that makes them naive and you smarter than everyone else who out voted you on your own poll? I'm not saying whether or not you or anyone else should feel upset about the content but just because I enjoy playing the game doesn't make me naive it means I have a different opinion than you, something that is aloud here in the states. Whether or not I agree with DLC models with games doesn't matter because its not going to change until a more lucrative option becomes available, you should lobby to keep the current model in place because undoubtedly anything new that is brought to the table will end up costing the consumer more and the company releasing the content less.
