Outposts – local vaults and planetary bounties…

Imagine when you got down onto a planet you ended up in a guardian occupied zone. Consider it a forward operations post where the guardians coordinate their operations. This could also provide a more social meeting point for players. [b]Story[/b] - Within the basis of the story it could be implemented as a broken down and desolate base that used to be an old guardian outpost. These outposts would become usable once you reactivate their console (either via a mission or in patrol). **[b] PLEASE NOTE[/b] - this is simply an idea, I acknowledge that some of my ideas might not appeal to everyone. However, this is my personal opinion. Options can be mixed and matched after all. Within the outpost there could be (some or all of) the following utilities/features: 1- [u]Local vaults[/u], an access point where you can quickly store loot without flying off to the tower just because you maxed one slot etc. [b]* Pros[/b]: convenient and allows for flexibility of gear while on planet. [b]* Cons[/b]: "oh look guys I have to run and store my stuff" - breaks up gameplay somewhat. 2- [u]Local bounty boards[/u], access the tower bounties on planet (might still need to go to the tower to hand them in) could even expand it to have planet specific bounties not available in the tower. [b]* Pros[/b]: also convenient. Allows a greater range of activities to do. Can give upgrade material rewards for planetary bounties? [b]* Cons[/b]: could provide too many bounties might need to limit rewards to only materials and small EXP. 3- [u]New outpost defense event/mission[/u], protect the outpost from LARGE waves of enemies (similar to warsat) To explain in detail: -This would be a [b][u]MISSION[/u][/b], preferably. Survive as many waves as possible. These modes would be fun with 3-6 players considering that they continue to get harder. Options could include endless horde and defense horde: -[b]Endless horde[/b] – the minions of the darkness will not relent in their attempts to wipe out all survivors (lose when you all die). - Rewards: planet materials, an engram if you pass a specific time/number of kills. -[b]Defense horde[/b] - Defend a console as your ghost extracts data from the outpost’s mainframe (lose when mainframe takes too much damage/possible 5 minute timer?) - Rewards: planet materials, an engram if you successfully defend the objective until the time is up. [b]*Pros:[/b] expands the range of activities further (and who doesn’t want wave mode anyway?). Different rewards could include materials (i.e. spinmetal). Introduces a new level of difficulty in the form of ever-hardening waves. [b]*Cons[/b]: as a mission it would take up an entry point to a server/planet. Rewards would have to be lowered (especially EXP, to prevent farming too hard in this form). 4- [u]Outpost map[/u], although not entirely necessary, a map of the planet area would be cool – it could even warn players of upcoming events within a short space of time. [b]*Pros[/b]: yay, a map! Helpful for event bounties. [b]*Cons[/b]: event farming? > Please feel free to leave feedback or suggest your own ideas. I’m not on often but I’ll make sure to update the list with any ideas I find interesting.
