Xbox one users fix for monkey

Hi guys. I was playing around with my settings and found that if you clear your system cache it fixes the monkey errors I've been getting every five minutes. Here's what I did: Go to Xbox dashboard. Go to system settings Go to network Go to advanced settings Go to alternate MAC address Clear Your Xbox will tell you It will restart. Once you have restarted play destiny and all should be ok. I have had the same issues and as soon as I did this I haven't had a problem for the past 45 mins on Mars patrol. Let me know if this helps and share with bungie if it does!! Have fun.

  • Anecdotal fix. Idiot changes something he doesn't understand and disconnect stops. Even though his fix couldn't possibly be related and posts it. Mac address is a local network specific identifier. Bungie servers would have no use for it. You just are affected by the disconnects right now because of luck. Moron.

    • I was having horrible issues with Monkey. I then did a combination on three things. Reset my router Unplugged xbox for ten minutes Then when I loaded back up cleared the alternate mac address. Allowed me to play for several hours last night, finished all bounties, weekly, nightfall, raid without issue. The issue may be older cached data on the Xbox One that is stored causing issues with the patched data on destiny's servers. So although the clearing if Mac address shouldn't logically fix the issue, I am wondering if the action clears whatever caching issue was there and that's why it anecdotally worked. We may not understand the extent of what that action dies behind the scenes. Worked for myself and 7 other clan members who were all having issues. If you haven't tried it already I suggest you follow the above 3 steps and give it a whirl. For the couple of naysayers, if you haven't been able to play for hours and this method to try and fix it takes merely a few minutes,, I I St don't understand that.

I will second that this is a possible fix action for weasel code. Did as instructed above and have been on for 30 minutes now with no issues. Just for a reference I did this prior to clearing the alternate MAC on the Xbox. Reset Router Kill Destiny App and restarted Hardboot Xbox and Remove from power for 5 minutes Clear hard drive cache Did all listed above, didn't help at all and was disconnecting every 3-5 minutes. UPDATE: Was on for about a solid hour last night after doing all this, and now getting weasel and monkey again... -_- Glad it worked for you guys though.
