There are a lot of people both on and off the forums looking for groups to do the weekly strikes and raids. There are an equal number of people complaining about the lack if social activity in the tower. Why not solve both problems by encouraging people by word of mouth and forum activity to gather in the various unused spaces of the tower when they're looking for something to do. Prospective raiders could gather in the bar, where it would, thanks to shaders, gear and level displays, be easy to pick out the players who best fit what you're looking for. Maybe if you want to team up for a couple rounds in the crucible, you could hang out by lord shaxx. Players earning rep for specific factions could mill about in their group's allotted areas. Proximity chat would if course make it easier, but this would certainly make the tower more lively, and would reduce the amount of forum lurking and searching necessary to find that last guy for your Xyor the Unwed kill run.
