thorn question
does thorn actually get better to use when the damage over time upgrade is unlocked or does it remain the same?
I just got it but honestly, I don't think it's good at all... in fact there are quite a few legendary pistols better than it

6 RepliesFrom what I've heard about it, the damage over time perk makes that gun much much better. I'm currently doing that bounty now. When you did the crucible did your points reset after not playing for a day or so?

1 ReplyI got thorn a while back and it hasn't gotten much use since I fully upgraded it. The perks are decent and it looks awesome, but the reload speed and the mag capacity are quite an awful combo. For something that takes a lot of time, effort, and skill to acquire, it just does not pay you back for what you went through to get it. I've compared thorn with the devil you know from the vanguard, and in both strikes and crucible, I got more kills and felt like I accomplished more with the devil you know. A bought vanguard weapon of the same class should never out do an exotic that can only be acquired through a vicious quest line. This is only my opinion but I do feel it needs a buff and soon. People out there are dismantling it do to it's poor performance. That is just sad.

Everybody hates the mag size, but I find it being a 6 chamber revolver solidifies its status as the most badass weapon in the game.

I got the thorn, my opinion, it's complete crap and I would use a regular legendary hand cannon over it

It's not so great. The DoT isn't remarkable but it does have piercing rounds so it's got some usability. It's like a decent legendary as opposed to an exotic really.

I unlocked this today and took to crucible ; it's fantastic. 2-3 shots and they're done. Makes the gun so much more effective. I used to have having to use it to level it up but now it's much better, even if the mag size is terrible and reloading is slow. Once I get the perfect balance upgrade I'm sure it will be even better. Hang in there!
