Kids Shouldn't Be Allowed in Restaurants

The other night I went on a date to a really fancy restaurant, the sort of place I can only afford to go to once a year, if I'm lucky. I even rented a suit just for the occasion. I was going there with the love of my life, and I was sure that it was going to be an amazing evening. I presented her with a bouquet of roses before we left (she was very pleased), and I had high hopes. I have to give credit to the employees of the restaurant. They didn't so much as bat an eyelid when I showed up to claim my reservation for a table of two. The waiter very professionally seated my date and I near the center of the restaurant (he even pulled out a chair for her!). I was a little nervous about us being in the middle, but I decided to put it out of mind and have a nice night. When the waiter returned I smoothly ordered drinks for both of us, showing off my knowledge of fine wines (ladies love connoisseurs), and ordered meals that perfectly complimented the wine and her tastes. I spared no expense on getting a fantastic dinner. Throughout the meal, the staff treated us perfectly normally and professionally, which I was very thankful for. The other diners, however, kept shooting my date and I weird glances. I just did my best to ignore them and hoped that my date didn't notice. Overall, though, things were going very well. The food was amazing, my date was beautiful, and we were having an engaging conversation about our many shared interests. But then it all came crashing down. Even if the other diners gave us the occasional weird look, they at least had the decency to end it at that. But kids don't have manners. Just as we were about to order dessert, some kid at another table shouted to his parents, "Why is that guy talking to a picture?" Night. Ruined. All I wanted was a nice evening with my loved one, and that stupid kid just had to go and make it weird. I lost my temper at that point and gave that kid and his parents a piece of of my mind. I won't include exactly what I yelled at them, but it wasn't nice. So much for my perfect date. Needless to say, I'm no longer welcome at that Applebees.
