Abandon Exotic Bounties
Has anybody else abandoned an Exotic bounty due to having to grind through PvP in order to complete?
Recently got the bounty for Thorn and have completed everything up to the 'acquire 500 points from void kills in pvp'. Got nothing against the destiny pvp other than I suck at it and it really isn't for me. Getting very close to just binning the bounty off but thought I might check for help or other peoples experience.
Is Thorn worth the grind?
Can anyone make some suggestions about making it bareable? I'm playing as a hunter.

Still can't bring myself to complete the Invective bounty at the PvP point. Currently on the fusion rifle part of Pocket Infinity, and have Thorn and Bad Juju. But jeez...really don't want to put that much effort into Crucible for a shotgun.

only one i grab is the super good advice bounty for the quick ease of the exotic shard. others get discarded.

The bounty weapons are garbage, with the exception of Thorn. Invective is a good shotty I guess, but I loathe the players who use it. Did all of the bounties once, never again...

Get a void fusion or shotty? Camp, stick with teamates and read radar. The kills will come Heavy- machine gun or rocket launcher? Both are powerful , but there are advantages to both. Rockets are harder for enemies to dodge so more guaranteed kills. Machine guns can go on some nasty streeks. Pick whichever you like. Hang in there as thorn is very much worth it

Also stop analyzing. Go buy yourself a void shotgun or fusion rifle and be a douchey corner camper. Just be a big douche and you'll get there. Reading other peoples' experiences isn't going to do you any good. Man up and take the challenge. Thorn is more than worth it. Only gun worth the intense bounty.

i would suggest doing it. getting the 500 points with void in the crucible isnt too hard if u have a decent void weapon u like using. truth works great if u focus on heavies and team it up with a void shotty or fusion rifle. shame yr a hunter as they dont do void damage but give it a go and you'll prob find you'll become a better pvp player as well. goodluck

Thorn is amazing dude. I had the bounty for two days before I did it, and it only took me 6-7 matches (Atheons epilogue very helpful) to finish it. It's a great weapon, does tons of damage, sounds awesome, looks awesome. You can do it :)

1 ReplyI'm a hunter and I've earned thorn twice. My advice? Fusion rifle + machine gun. It sucks but you finish the bounty in 5 or 6 games

5 RepliesIf you can grab Athens Epilogue it's fairly easy. I had it when I did mine. Took I think 7 matches. Some say they've done it in 2-3 but I want to call BS.

Literally the last 15-20 exotic bounties I got have been deleted right away.

I have every bounty weapon except for Super Good Advice. Juju - Meh. It's mediorce, but not to bad in PvE if you can deal with it's recoil. Thorn - It's great. Just look at all the "neef Thorn" threads. Infinity - Great way to ruin someone's day. (Also SUPER fun during Solar Burn.) Invective - Probably the best shotgun I've had. Regen ammo, check. Full auto, check. Pretty useful in the Lamp section of Crota's End.

I finally finished the 500 points and Xyor the Unwed last night and got my hands on Thorn. It's already my favourite gun so far, and the sense of achievement from having completed the bounty is huge! Keep fighting guardian, the rewards are worth the pain!!

I did it the first time I had thorn but back then you could only hold 5 bounties at a time.

I've abandoned quite a few because I keep getting the same ones (Thorn, Bad Juju and Invective) all of which I have done. Still waiting for a different one.

No, I abandon them as I don't want to grind through the Crucible [u]again[/u]. Thorn took 2hrs to complete the Crucible part. Invective took 2 games to complete the Crucible part. Hate grinding :p

Worth it - yes. Difficult - no Just take your time and don't rush around. Be in a position to get heavy ammo and stand back to pick people off. It'll come.

No, none of the bounties are even remotely hard.
