Kill 10 Majors or Ultras... a note on Patrol Etiquette.

Just a quick reference here. If you have a bounty that requires you to get 10 kills on a faction's majors or ultras, and you happen to have another individual in the same patrol space attempting to do the same thing... please do NOT be a dick and camp the spawn location of those enemies to prevent them from spawning so that, perhaps, the other players will all go away and you can have them to yourself. I've seen this happen way to many times. Note to those morons... everyone gets credit for the kill if you're nearby when it happens, whether you were the one to kill them or not. Preventing the enemies from spawning is only screwing everyone over, including yourself. Be a good neighbor... let the enemies spawn so someone can kill them and everyone wins. EDIT for clarification: There are generally 4 ways to get credit for kills - the game only really cares about participation in the kill, not who gets the kill shot. 1) Story milestone kills (bosses, etc) count for everyone on this mission (instanced areas, so fireteams) regardless of participation or proximity to target. If anyone gets the kill, you get credit. 2) Getting the kill yourself (counts in all scenarios, obviously). 3) Being any distance from the kill, and have done damage to it prior to the kill (you could shoot the enemy once, then move on, and still get credit if someone else kills it). 4) Being in close proximity to the player that gets the kill regardless of having damaged it yourself (as long as you're close to the player who gets the kill, it doesn't matter if you hit it or not. The game considers you two to be participating together).

  • Just because you're in the area doesn't mean you get credit. You actually have to tag them at least once with some damage to get credit. The same goes for the majors and ultras on dropping 20 of whatever the bounty might be asking you to get 200 of.
