Destiny is not made for anyone with a job or family

I stuck with Destiny for a while. I defended Bungie through many changes and updates. But as time goes by I see a pattern here. A pattern that is edging me, and others like me, out of Destiny entirely. Who are "other like me"? People with careers and families. I feel like Bungie is looking at a small audience with many of the patches. I think Bungie is slowly edging out the gaming community that has money to spend; ya know, people who work full time jobs and have families that do not have 6+ hours solid several times a week to play this. I wish I could get my expansion money back because I am certain not to play it now. I hate that I fed Bungie money to do this to us. They will not get one more dime from me now that I know that they do not care about my type of gamer. They apparently cater to the "I can game for 10 hours a day" crowd. Yeah, I know, people are going to jump all over this and claim they are super elite gamers that got to level 28 and defeated VOG on level 30 with under 20 hours of gameplay. But ya know what? Ya'll are not the majority of players. I congratulate your gaming powers, but realistically you are not the market share. And before people start calling me a casual gamer or farmer, use the Bungie app and Xbox tools to actually look at my stats. I am not a farmer, I am not a "casual gamer". I just happen to have a job and a family so I can do things like drop $90 on a game and its DLC. I feel totally excluded from this game because I simply CANNOT play for hours and hours on end every day. I can do 3-4 hrs a day on weekdays and 6+ on weekends, but every update makes me feel more and more like Bungie is making sure that if I am not truly "hardcore" AND jobless I can't enjoy Destiny. When friends or coworkers ask me about Destiny I tell them it isn't enjoyable unless you can sink an incredible amount of time constantly into the game. If you have any life at all, the game quickly becomes boring and unenjoyable because all the patches are about catering to this small community of people who have tons of time to play. This prevents most people who have families from even giving it a try. Bungie needs to get its priorities straight. Until they do, I am done with Destiny entirely. I will gladly spend my hard earned money giving it to Ubisoft, Rockstar or Bioware who seem to understand people have to have a job to pay for their game content.

 • From a guy with a wife and two year old who is grabbing my feet as I type this. Find 2 other players on the same console who are either in the same situation or will work around yours. My play list has at least a full time job, with most married and some with kids. It helps some of us are friends in the real world too, allowing us to coordinate our plans for a session before we start. Sometimes most of the wasted time is figuring out what everyone needs/wants to do. Even if you just make a hotmail email acct for gaming communication you can communicate with "strangers" without giving too much personal info away. This allows for effective sessions, allowing us to maximise our chances to level up and complete achievements. If you're on ps4 and in Australia or can work with Aussie times, let me know and you can join in if you like. The most fun thing to do in this game is shoot fallen/hive/vex/cabal etc with a group of good people having a laugh. I prefer not having everthing within a month of release, that sort of game is the one I consider a rip off.
