What's so wrong with Xur?
He makes me get excited for the weekend to come around! I love having him come to the Tower! Even if he is already selling something I received from a lucky drop! I hope Bungie doesn't remove him. It's a good thing he is in this game. :) Xur and the weekly reset are what keep me coming back to Destiny. :)
Edit: I have discovered from all of these gracious comments, that Xur badly needs a doctor and possibly needs help with drug addiction too. Poor man. A face only a mother.... I'm not even sure about that. The man needs love.
Edit 2: I'm glad that Xur is loved by his buyers at least! Shows he is a good man and vendor, even with that face of his.

1 ReplyXur is running Xur-mart, an outfit of illegal aliens selling cheap knock off exotics at way under market value. By doing this he is ruining the self esteem of idiots everywhere that "earned" their RNG exotic. He is not even paying taxes or import fees to the tower. We all must take a stand and keep this alien scum from flooding our markets with low cost cheap crap, it is not like the people with strange coins or motes of light did anything for them. What will he sell next ? Nuke launchers from fallout ? Advanced laser weapons? OMG the imagination is staggered by what he could bring. If not stopped soon it could lead to...an in game economy. Holy shit we can't have that now can we.

Meanwhile they think that grinding for strange coins and buying Exotics from Xur makes them Poverty / Welfare Exotics. Haters gonna hate! I have 12 Exotic Weapons; Some from drops some from Xur. Remember this game is T for Teen, so every scrub azz fuk boy is going to have something to hate on. Xur is GREAT. All the haters can Suq Madiq!

7 RepliesI like Xur and think he brings an element of something to look forward to on the weekends. I wish he was around on Sunday's too. My only concern though is apparently sometimes exotics have different stat lines when he sells the same item again. I was really looking at getting the VoidFang Vestments and almost got them but heard that the ones he sold a couple of weeks ago had a stronger strength rating. I hesitated because strange coins don't fall from the sky and if I'm going to spend them, I want to know I'm getting a rock solid item. Plus, my legendary with +75 Intellect and +75 Discipline still felt stronger than a +109 Strength and I'd be losing more points than gaining. Either way I hope Xur stays. I cannot tell you of my excitement when I traded in motes of light and got Sunbreakers (finally). While everyone else may have gotten them 2-3 times already, for some odd reason I was always dodged. Considering the last time I traded in motes I got an exotic for a Titan when I had a Warlock....I consider it a win.

I hope that Bungie NEVER removes Xur and I hope that Bungie NEVER increase the prices of the items he sells, and that he continues selling one exotic armor piece for all three classes every week as well as an exotic weapon. Though there is one minor caveat I have about Xur. Last week, I bought my Armamentarium from from him, and did some heavy grinding to level it up all the way so that it gives 117 points of discipline. After I've fully upgraded the one he sold last week, I saw that he's now selling the Armamentarium that starts out with 131 points of discipline. I was a bit salty about this one because Titan's my main class and I do use grenades quite often. When fully upgraded, this week's version of the Armamentarium will have over 20 more points of discipline than last week's version. That's almost 10% more discipline. If Xur is going to sell exotic armor pieces, then he should sell the versions that give the highest points of intellect, discipline, or strength. On another one, the Voidfang Vestment Xur's selling this week starts out with 108 points of strength, while the one he should two weeks ago started out with 111 points of strength. I wasn't as irritated by this as I was with the Armamentarium because strength is the least valuable for the Warlock's void-walker.

1 ReplyI love Xur too, but Exotics should either cost more strange coins, or strange coins should be harder to get. Being able to buy something from Xur should be a big deal, not something I can do once or sometimes twice a week.

2 RepliesXur is only another facet of the problem with the loot system in this game. High-tier equipment is so easily available from either Xur or the numerous ways of cheati-er sorry I mean "exploiting" on the weekly nightfalls and raids that there is really no thrill in obtaining new gear. Instead of people each randomly obtaining great pieces of gear as show-pieces there is flocking back and forth between easily obtainable "OP" gear, all to the background noise of people bickering about "earning" or buying their gear. The result is an endgame where we all grind our asses off to obtain the same gear as everybody else, then play crucible matches with the same gear as everybody else. So a game that should have tons of diversity becomes exactly like every other pvp shooter, except without the great balance and flow found in many of them. (I say "pvp shooter" because after completing the strikes 20-30 times a pop, completing the story a couple times, and finishing the raid, pvp is the only interesting and dynamic content left to play.) A lot of the people complaining about Xur aren't complaining because they don't get to be a snowflake anymore, they're complaining because it changes receiving great loot from something exciting into something inevitable.

1 ReplyWell you are more sensible than others. Some think that getting lucky with RNG means they are entitled and people that earn coins are scum. Xur is fine. Way I see it, he has something I've already gotten, well fine I get to save my coins for next week and maybe buy a sparrow upgrade or some gun xp boosters. I am more than happy to collect and try out all the exotics the game has to offer. Idgaf about pvp so not like I'm using op shit to act like I'm a pvp badass or anything. Seriously I've played 4 matches. Went 2.whatever but it just isn't fun to me. Rather mindlessly shoot shit an have fun

2 RepliesHonestly I enjoy Xur a lot. It adds a level of Constance to this otherwise inconstant rng nature. All in respect though, as his sales are rng based!! Lol You can only have two exotics equipped at a time. Honestly I see exotics as less valuable than raid gear or weapons. Sure they are cool and all but they are also in check.

5 RepliesIt's not the fact that the exotics are easy to get to me, it's the fact that their is no story! And I'm not saying RNG has any story either! I mean read the grimoire cards, the exotics have so much background info on them, but literally none of it is used in game! What's the point of Super Good Advice being a talking gun if I never experience that! Or that Thorn is an "evil" gun if I never get shunned for holding it? It's pointless
