what's your opinion on humanity and our future as a species personally I think the human race will end up destroying the planet and things like Deforestation and pollution and war and religion and politics will end up killing the earth and all life on it because A big company would rather pollute a lake or kill a few huge thousand trees for money. A object with no real value. The only thing that matters is survival, and reproduction.

History says civilizations rise and fall. Darwinism, tells us, either you evolve and adapt or you die.

The smart ones are going to build a self sustaining space colony, leave the earth and survive while idiots consumed by greed or religious zealots tear the earth apart. Then whats left of this ball of dust will be set aside as a museum as to what extremest religion and greed can do to a planet or species.

The planet will always be here regardless of what humanity does. We might go extinct but the planet will survive, even if we had all out nuclear war, life, if not human, will go on. To more directly answer the question, I am an optimist and I believe we will do fine. I think things will get really bad before they get better though. For better or for worst, humanity thrives in the face of opposition.

If we don't start building shit on the moon and apply the death penalty like we don't have prepubescant twats, we're doomed to overpopulation and poverty. If we don't enforce a Scorched Earth policy on the entirety of Africa, more dangerous diseases will spawn from its dying people and eventually contaminate the rest of the planet. Zombie movies don't know what the hell they're doing, because it's practically guaranteed that the end of humanity would originate from Africa. Jerusalem needs to be taken from the Jews and the Muslims, because we gave them the chance to work shit out and all they're doing is killing each other. So send the Brotherhood of Towels to Iran and the like, and give the Jews to the Vatican and let them fight each other.

Humanity will use up every last resource and we will be f*cked.

And on that day... Humanity received a grim reminder that we lived in fear of the totans

lazier and stupider eventually ending up in a tyrant ruled population with a council in power subjugating the masses because they are too comfortable to break the conformity

I thin humans will merge with technology, then kill our own planet.

Nah, it's going to be good.

The final scene in starwars episode 4 where the x wings take out the death star. Except we are the death start and the x wings represent all the stupid sour people get hung up about

There is no way we could wipe out ALL life on Earth. A decent portion, yes. All, no.

Click the spoiler for a rant.
I think things will get worse before they get better. I believe that as long as the baby boom generation is still a part of global politics, we'll continue to use our long outdated system that produces little other than war, corruption, pollution, segregation that ruins our environment and threatens every aspect of our health that simply divides people and creates hatred. To the untrained, cynical eye, it may appear that our species may be entering the twilight years of this golden age of technology and great standards of living, but it's very possible to fix it. Will it be easy? Hell no. But humanity has never backed down from a challenge. We don't do things because they're easy, we do them because they're hard. We want to push our own limits whenever possible. We've harnessed electricity. We've landed men on the moon. Who's to say we can't fix and lessen the impact our lives have on the planet we call home? Younger generations are finally beginning to understand their role in history now. We are the ones who will atone for our parents' sins. We have to deal with the threat of nuclear warfare, a lifestyle that destroys ecosystems worldwide, and hate built solely from ignorance. But I also believe that we can fix it all. Ending the hatred and violence once and for all isn't possible. It's just in our DNA. We see something we want, we will try and take it by any means. It's one of the few behavioral connections that we still have with the rest of the animal kingdom. Our methods of fighting are simply more sophisticated. But unlike them, we can understand each other. We can think on a higher level. Through this understanding, we can become a less violent race and more productive in endless ways. Unfortunately, this also means we have to fight for what we believe in (not necessarily meaning violent revolution). We live in a politically correct world that can not offend anyone, for any reason. We need to end the hypersensitivity. We need to collectively grow a pair and get power from the people who are destroying our society by refusing to move forward and think of the future. The millenial generation, unlike any before it, has no spine. We're complacent with our current situation. We can't be. We must take action or else nobody will, and we'll be stuck in this endless cycle. We can fix our previous mistakes and finally move forward, but as a generation must take matters into our own hands.
I by default expect humanity to do bad, so I don't have good faith in humanity's future to get better, regardless of whether we continue to exist for a while or not.

Everything will die :D

We're boned. I give it fifty years til we start having (major) wars over water.

Edited by White Wolf : 10/25/2014 4:05:47 PMThat is a rather fatalistic few of the future. I don't think we will thoughtlessly burn through recorces, I think that over time we will use land and recorces more efficiently as our population stabilises. In the long term it will result in the average quality of life increasing as we would have a lower population and more efficient/sustainable farming technology.
Halo 4 MLG Started a new topic: GF pic thread(1 Reply)
...the Hell? Yeah, because when I saw this topic I immediately thought to myself "Yeah, this needs a girlfriend picture thread... in the feedback section of the forum".... Anyway, back on topic... Despite that guy's thread making me lose a bit of faith in humanity, I'm sure we, as a species, will be ok. I think there will always be wars and fighting and such (because there will always be conspiracy nuts and anarchists who hate any authority), but I think we do a good job at advancing technology and our knowledge base for things. I think eventually we'll be travelling the stars as long as some natural disaster doesn't wipe us out. I don't foresee us doing it to ourselves though.

Hopefully we'll take to the stars but as we are now...we're -blam!-ed.

We're -blam!-ing doomed

We are all -blam!-ed. That's all I got.
