So.. you can't get to Level 30 on your own?
Is this correct? Is the fire team VOG essential?
If so, what a crock of shit. I'm level 28, been grinding up, and now seem to be going nowhere. End of game then?
Please don't bother with the bitchy smart ass comments, this is a genuine question. I know it's a multiplayer game, but not entirely one. Very disappointed if this is the case. Any level 30's without VOG?

But my god there are some pricks on here as well though! I would love to do the VOG with a team, I simply don't have the time or brain space to get it organised with 2 small kids and a job. I play when I can. Which is why I end up playing on my own a lot, I just wanted to get as far as I can in a game I enjoy, what the -blam!- is wrong with that?

Without doing VoG the highest you will get is 29, which is just fine if you have no intention of running the raid. Destiny is a very stripped down attempt at an MMO. It was preached as an MMO for the last few years and you can not bash this game because you thought you could lonewolf it. May I suggest Borderlands? Or the MCC that comes out in a few weeks?

Not possible to be lvl 30 without raid gear...and just post here for a group it takes 5 minutes to find one especially since your 28 and if you wanted just upgrade your legendaries and you'll be 29 if you really feel that lazy to not post for a group

Sure it may take longer having to wait out two events to have the chance to get all 30pvp gear but imagine, one week he has helmet and gauntlets. The next time he shows up he has leg armor and chest armor. To think he would sell the same thing is like saying every time Xur comes back he's going to have the same armor and gun which we already know to be false. Implying one WOULD be able to get full lvl 30 gear from IB it would just take two event cycles. Edit. The mention of slot limitation I interpreted as the vendor will only be selling the lvl 30 gear in two slots. If the fact is that you can only wear two pieces of IB armor then one would need a piece of raid gear and an exotic.

To get to 30 you need 4 pieces of raid gear or 3 and One exotic.

All I need is raid boots to hit 30 but I've been unlucky, maybe I'll try for the IB boots instead if there are any

Yep, even the iron banner update won't let you. You can only wear two IB armor pieces. Those and one exotic will still leave you just shy of 30.

The only reason you'd need to get to level 30 is to attempt the VoG on hard or any other PvE aspects. (Witholding Iron Banner) Other than that, levels don't really do much.

Being 30 is only beneficial to the raid and maybe in the iron banner this time. If you don't want to play VoG your character isnt limited in anyway

You can reach 29 without VOG. Being leveled doesn't matter in pvp.
