@Bungie - Constructive criticism to a list of things!

TL:DR - Discussion on weapons, modes, gameplay, latency, interface, the PS4 controller and more! First off let me just say that.... Thank you! I love Destiny despite all the flaws it has and there are quite a few. I also love Destiny despite the current approach Activision/Bungie has to delivering content and I will adress this in this post. So let us get down to business. Gameplay/Mechanics: There is alot of talk about how some classes are overpowered and others aren´t. I play a Hunter and I am not the best at PvP and even though I play the most "OP" class in the game I feel that it mostly comes down to skill rather than my class in order to do well in PvP. What I mean by this is that I don´t like the fact that sunsingers get an insane amount of armor when they use radiance, I don´t like that the solar grenades do an insane amount of damage over time damage extremely fast, I don´t like that titans storm fist can oneshot me even though I go full toughness and have natural 1.2k armor rating or that Fist of Havoc is an instant ability while other classes have an animation that can cause them to die. Sound like alot of whine right? Here is the catch even though these abilities annoy me for one reason or another the main part of PvP is using guns and your skill in aiming and since we do this 80% of the time it´s the major part as to why these abilities are okay to be the way they are. This whole tidbit is also just thrown in to make you have a look at all classes Hunters included as Blade Dance could use more armor and a bit less damage to be more balanced and not feel too cheap. Fusion Rifles: These babies need to be looked at, if they were railguns I´d see no problem but these things are more closerange weapons and yet you can snipe people with them and oneshot most things in midrange which is absurd. These babies also sport a fast reloadspeed in general and often don´t suffer problems with stability as you have plenty of time to align your shots between bursts. If you take all this into account the least thing that should be done to these weapons is take down the range and let them be 1 shot kills at close range and alot less effective to mid and long range. Scout Rifles: You are gonna adress these so I will wait till after the patch to see what you have done :)... The patch seems to have done scout justince +1 bungie. Hand Cannons: Same as with Scout rifles..... The patch did nothing to adress the situation and make Hand Cannons more viable (aim in air increased:/). -1 Bungie Auto Rifles: The go to weapon for most players. With good reason and I know you guys will be nerfing AR and that is fine by me even though I love them myself. They are just too good at long range and deal a ridiculus amount of damage in mid range. My biggest gripe with AR is how you devided them into two camps. Slower fire but higher impact, high fire rate and low impact. Usually the high firerate low impact rifles do better simply because of the amount of bullets they spew and even though you don´t land headshots you can shred people with them. I´ll give you an example, Suros Regime gains damage while aimed and you land headshots at midrange vs some dude with Dr Nope / Shingen E and he will most of the time win the engagement if he just aims in your general direction despite having little to no impact. This difference makes no sense if we are to look at this from a stats/balance/rpg standpoint of things. Headshots with slower AR with more impact over Fast AR with little impact should be different. Slow AR should reward skill and Fast AR for mid range mayhem, this is not the case at the moment. Please adress this. Shotguns: Blue shotguns are better than invective if enough Impact is added to them.... that is about all I got to say on this. I love my Invective it feels great, looks great but in a shotgun duel vs a high impact blue despite landing 2 fast shots the outcome ends with me dead and the other dude being at 5% HP left. On this note Exotics need to be better overall, not that Invective is bad by any means but all Exotics should have a more distinct feel to them and more interresting perks. Sniper Rifles: Fine as they are, would love the function to have the ability to switch between scopes while zoomed. ------------------------------------------

Post Part 2: Controller use: This is a personal thing I have a big gripe with, the controller on my PS4 is underused and probably the same thing can be said about any console that runs Destiny. The D-Pad needs to become ALOT better. The D-Pad could be used to have preset loadouts maped to them within the game, ie : Hold R1+UP = Loadout 1 (shader, weapons, armor), Hold R1+Right = Loadout 2 (shader weapons, armor), Example: Primary: Suros Regime, Special: The comedian, Heavy: Zombie Apocalypse ----> Loadout 2 -----> Primary: Last Word, Special: Final Boss, Heavy: Unfriendly Giant. This would make you able to diversify your gameplay on maps in PvP and PvE for certain situations, it could also be cause to create more interresting encounters where phases of close combat get varied with long ranged combat. The D-Pad can also be used to map item uses like: Hold R2 + Up = Use Heavy Ammo Pack Hold R2 + Right = Use Special Ammo Pack Further on the discussion on ammo packs and buffs, where is the bloody icon that shows you how much time you got left on your ammo pack cooldown or your glimmer bonus cooldown etc. This needs to be added for PvE raiding and general use. A mini map wouldn´t hurt when playing PvE either, for PvP I´m fine with the radar and having to memorize and learn the environment. Now to another design issue for me and this has been talked about all over the internet and it needs to happen Bungie. ------------------------------------- Interface: Grimoire - This little book of ours needs to be an IN GAME feature, forcing people to leave the game to read interresting facts and lore pieces and see cool pictures is just bad game design. The Grimoire should also fill another function, much like the book that Nathan Drake has in Uncharted our Grimoire should be able to contain maps of areas we have discovered which we can put markers on the map as to where are favorite material grind area is or other small things of that sort. If anything the Grimoire should at least contain map overviews of the PvP arenas once you have entered them and unlocked them and on that very same page it would keep track of your K/D/A on that map and all other usefull info that are your personal stats that you can convey to others. The Tower: As far as Hub zones goes the tower is lackluster, there needs to be more dynamic to the people there and the environment itself so that it feels more alive. There needs to be a function where you can launch crucible matches from the tower when you have a fireteam and not have to go to orbit (sure in orbit we travel to venus when playing on the PvP map on Venus but to be fair no gamer really cares about that AT ALL when we just want to play PvP. This is not PvE and no lore is involved and there are no cutscenes needed, this is where we test our skills hardcore style). Bounties: Getting Salvage bounties when there is no salvage to be played..... I´ll leave it there. Events / Missions: We have had 2 events now, Queens Wrath was a major letdown. After the story cutscene and the Queens brother saying we OWE them when they would call on us it is safe to say that EVERYONE who waited for Queens Wrath expected some kind of sidestory to follow with the event and not just a rehash of the bounty system. Alot of people grinded their way to Rank 3 I personally didn´t bother to get rank 1 even in protest as to how pointless the whole thing was. When you do an event in destiny it should have meaning, it should have give us as gamers something to strive for more than just gear. A small piece of lore to just show us more of the awoken would have been fine, a glimpse into their past perhaps or AT LEAST a small conversation. Iron Banner works as an event as it is fully PvP based, but too could have started off with a small cutscene for the first time as you arrive at the tower (you teleport in and you see the speaker talking to saladin, you hear them discuss the need for a greater test as the number of able bodied guardians is low and the morale is lacking and thus the Iron Banner event is made to boost morale and to crown 3 top guardians at the end of the event. THIS LEADS ME TO LEADERBOARDS!!!!!! Tada!!!! The one thing missing from the iron banner is that it has no season, it has NO new gametype (CTF where are you???) and it has no leaderboard with a specific reward for the top 3 or top 30 players. Take this to heart bungie, this is what ALL competitive players WANT!. When you do events from here on I suggest you give us lore in some shape or form, we want to know about the cabal, the nine, the speaker, ourselves, the awoken, the reef, the collapse, the golden age, the hive, the fallen, the planets. We want to know all this and you have 10 years to feed us tiny bits and pieces of lore which SHOULD NOT AT ALL BE NEEDING 20$ PURCHASES!!! We need to get lore in between DLC´s or this wonderfull game is gonna drop dead fast and in a hurry. We need the missions to be more than just horde mode. You need to make some missions require 3 players to coordinate on different parts of a map (like opening vault of glass) and support this with matchmaking like you do for other parts of the game. You need to add the bloody "WARTHOG FROM HALO" a 3 seated machine of death and destruction. You need to give our ships stats, weapons and a meaningfull way to use them or simply remove them from the game cause we all hate them being a skin for a loadscreen (we really do). Lag / Latency: Finally I want to adress the biggest concern for competitive PvP. I am sitting on a 100mbit ( yes I´m fortunate) and I still have latency issues when playing PvP. Shooting people dead and waiting 3-4 seconds to get the message that says I killed them is laughable. Shooting someone in the face and see their HP reach zero and then still die to them from a punch they commited after being dead is ridiculus. Seeing players run around the map as if they are blinking (classes without blink :D) all the time making it impossible to hit them because you are shooting a ghost. Thanks for reading!! Regards Oktalz
