Criticise My Work!

Here is my work, tell me if it makes sense or How I could make it make sense. Its just a rough draft I am workingon, but somehow I think its not working out well. We are suppose to analyze comments of an article and then describe certain comments. Such as stating if they are funny or riridculous, stuff like that. I cant decide what to state my thesis as, so that s what I need help with. Enjoy: Ebola is a disease with no cure that slowly shuts down organs and eventually kills those infected. An outbreak started in December of 2013 and hundreds have already died. First-World countries such the United States of America and England were not too worried about it since they have a better chance of containing the disease. On September 30th, someone who was infected in Liberia came to the United States and began living in Texas. Now it is known this person named Duncan, has the disease. He is being contained in his apartment and residents of the same complex are being looked out for and searched for a sign of the disease. The viewers of USA Today that have read this news are sparking interesting debates with statements and questions. Some of these topics also use some noticeable fallacies. One man claims Duncan could have known he was infected and came to the United States for better medical care. Another person questions, what if people have come into contact with Duncan without knowing it and could be infected thus spreading the disease. One person stated that this case has led to ‘Ovomit’ telling the biggest lie and he quotes “It won’t come to America.” These are a few points that have created interesting discussions among the viewers on Facebook. These points have used fallacies and include fallacies in the discussions. One initial comment, “When are they going to ban flights out of these countries going to Europe and the U.S.? I would bet this man knew he was exposed and came to this country for the medical care, in case he got sick. How many times will wealthier citizens of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea repeat this given the opportunity?” The commenter seems to be jumping to conclusions, because he believes Duncan probably came to the United States for the medical care. This commenter creates a good conclusion for why Duncan came to America. This person was looking at the facts that he came from Liberia, which is a place that is involved in the Ebola outbreak. Most likely the hospitals can’t treat everybody since Liberia has their hands full with treating other infected patients. The other fact that he has been known to be infected maybe without even knowing it before he came to America. Therefore with the two factors of Duncan’s situation, he could have risked other people’s health for the health of his family by coming to a 1st world country that is not infected with Ebola. This conclusion could be false, but is a good question about why Duncan chose to come to America at the time. One man Campbell, brought up a good point. He asked what happens to the people that may have come in contact Duncan at the airports and in town. This brought up an informative discussion. The comments were formal by not insulting anyone and just offering information they found to inform each other on the situation. One man talks with Campbell about how people are not contagious until they are showing signs of symptoms. Which this does answer a huge chunk of the concern, but this fact has a doubtful authority. This man does not give any sources and we can only take his word for it. If what he says is true it gives relief about Ebola spreading, but gives a question of how accurate his information is. Other people commenting on different subjects about Ebola are saying that Duncan can be contagious without even showing symptoms.
