Amazing how in one year we got a completely dumbed down version of what looked like a master piece.
Sad that this actually looks better than what we have now lol

Wow wish I wouldn't have watched that. Lol. Some of the polish is definitely gone and lighting features removed. I would have liked the ships dropping me out of a bay door and having other players ships flying overhead dropping them off when joining my fire team. Seeing the areas like Saturn and Mercury and a lush forest playable level. Assuming old Russia outside the city makes me wish that was there. Just a lot of little things. I wonder if they had to dumb down the game a bit so it looked nearly the same across all systems. Oh well I can hope with future updates etc we will see more of the stuff that got cut out.

Edited by badmonkey8me: 10/24/2014 2:55:32 PMsome of the things i would like back that i saw in videos or heard in the dev demos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXW2FEJ4L4E#t=37 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZ5BpeHVTWY#t=19 1) Player trading/gambling 2) Another player joining your game and the ship flying in to port them to your location 3) Destroyable ships if you shot the turrets with a dot mechanic like thorn you can see the whole ship flash like the dot is ticking 4) i liked the story arc that the traveler was the bad guy, crow story arc which would help explain the ewoken and the queen, and the factions story arc.

I remember watching this last year and thinking how awesome it was going to be. In retrospect, I wouldn't say that we ended up getting, "just a shell," of what it could have been, because a lot of what was in the demo actually made it into the final game. The upgrade tree, weapons, grenades, character/weapon models, that location, all look the same as the final game, pretty much. Even the Devil Walker still spawns during a public event in that area! However, a lot of the "flash" and "spectacle" were taken out, which is understandable....... that was just a tech demo, behind closed doors and they purposefully make those to be extra flashy for the media. It was obviously only meant to show the absolute best parts of the game, polished for that specific audience and for E3. It's kind of like a concept car at an auto show. Really flashy, a lot of cool, extra tech, looking futuristic, etc. etc. but you don't really know what is underneath all the fancy sheet metal and when the car finally goes in to production... well, it's just not the same as the concept.... but the foundation was there and it is obvious. Two things I noticed, which must have been added/changed after this video: 1. The player NEVER aims down sight, obviously from their Halo roots, in the whole video, even with an inaccurate machine gun. I wish they would have left that in. I'm tired of it in every FPS everywhere and I'm so happy the Master Chief Collection is coming out to get back to it. 2. Hand cannon was a special weapon, not a primary. I'm very glad for this change. I love the hand cannon as a primary! I will admit, watching the video does make the game look much, much better than it actually is, but that doesn't change my current perception or enjoyment of the game as it stands right now.
